People who haven't tried lean before don't know what it feels like to be intoxicated by promethazine + codeine, all highs are not equal, smoking weed and getting high isn't some kind of reference point to use when assessing the highs of other drugs.

Rap isn't just telling people something exists, rappers glorify and glamorize the "something" that exists, of course if you don't like something you would not continue doing it but rap leads a lot of people to trying it and then deciding whether they like it or not.

the actual reality is that there are people who make a case for how damaging the "rap message" is and believe that it is dangerous for youth like it is a dire, glaring problem but the only skepticism they have is for the rappers themselves and not the systems that are in place, or are supposed to be in place to protect youth from dangerous messages

you can't erase a message or an idea but you can use the law to protect the most vulnerable from that message or idea, if you work hard enough to prove it is dangerous
why people who continually say that rap is a problem don't just do that, I will never understand

like, say you won every coli argument, every facebook and twitter argument about how damaging rap is, then what? Rap will still be there as accessible as it is now. The people you seem to want to reach still won't hear your message. The community remains the same. Start a petition or something

if your opinion is that something is hurting people en masse, it's a little disingenuous to say that it's just your opinion, especially on a board for the discussion of rap, with several of the posters a part of the community that you are implying is crippled by rap
if it's just your opinion, why argue with me about rappers and drugs, your opinion is no more significant than anyone elses
unless you think it is more significant, in which case, you would be better served continuing the fight for stricter censorship

My opinion is that music has influence over people, others disagree and say "it's just entertainment." it's as simple as that, I'm not on a crusade to change the music industry or censor anything but rather share my opinion and participate in discussion.,
