Austin was getting booed against Hogan that year too.
Yeah he was but then there have been times that Austin got cheered over Hogan
One thing is for certain though, Rock has never been cheered over Austin or Hogan

The Rock brought up Hogan at the HOF 2008 and the crowd booed Hogan out. WM XXX the crowd cheered and chanted Rocky over both Austin and Hogan. The crowd cheered Rock over Austin leading to the Survivor Series 99 Triple Threat. On the Oklahoma City Raw before Vengeance 01, the Rock tried to put Austin over Angle and Jericho and the crowd booed Austin out and chanted Rocky as if he was raised there...Jim Ross said "These people clearly love this man"Is this true @R=G ??
What about when Rock came back in 2001 during the summer wasn't he cheered over Austin at that point?
probably because of what austin built in 98 and 99 lolneg rep
WWE was at it's highest revenue in 2000 when the Rock was the lead man
It's the Rock and Hoegan who too wrestling into mainstream more than Austin
The Rock had already surpassed Austin by summer 99.probably because of what austin built in 98 and 99 lol
rock was never stone cold or hogan level when it came to popularity if we being objective.
anyone who lived that era will know that.
rock was definitely the most entertaining tho, and my personal fav.
stone cold era probably saved the wwe from.going out of business

Wild take since Hogan and Austin never was as mainstream as Rock in 2000. Ever.probably because of what austin built in 98 and 99 lol

That was in Toronto. Hogan first WWE single match in like 10 years, man. NWO or not... Hogan was getting cheered that night. NWO were more anti heros than villians. A lot of fans like the NWO.
Rock was getting stale as fukk too on like a 2 1/2 year face run. Back then... Face and heel runs weren't fukking 5 years long.
It was a lot of circumstances coming together in such a true once in a lifetime match, but Rock through Summerslam 2002 was getting soft boos to end that face runs, anyways
lets put it this wayThe Rock had already surpassed Austin by summer 99.
around spring of 99 was when alot of black folks I knew was making the switch to Federation.
The Rock was the first wwf wrestling I knew. I was watching wcw before the Rock became the main dude.
sorry, but Austin never reached Rock's popularity. He just started the AE and was probably one of the reason it over took wcw, but Rock took wwe to elite height. by 01 there was more people on earth who knew of the name The Rock than Austin.
lets put it this way
austin vs hogan is a bigger match than rock vs hogan.
shyt, it might be considered the biggest match in wrestling history if it happened.
rock vs hogan was plan b for a reason.
