we've gotten to the point where we have to disguise "leak" threads as "album discussion" threads..like real nikkas really in there to read cacs opinions on track # 6 on a new yeezy album![]()
you don't keep it on a hard drive? my whole music collection (cd's) got stolen in 2007....ever since then, i keep a backup HD with all my music and picsNah I can't do that, not a fan at all, and I mean at all of that stuff.
I don't know why, but I need a complete separate place for my tunes.
you taking me way back...i used to record video shows on VHS. they had an immature video marathon, i know i have that VHS somewhereI used to record multi hour radio shows on vhs tapes and then record my favorite songs on cassette tapes and listen to it for days on my way to school
later on I even had the radio and vcr set to turn on and record at specific times
you don't own them, and you're not always in a place where you can connect, furthermore, for tru on demand access you're still paying. spotify is cool, it made losing my cd collection easier to deal with knowing the one time a year i want to listen to 112's first album or the ruff ryders compilation, i can just go there. but having music that you control fully, all the artists and genres you love in one place, playlists you've been building for 10+ years, music you can listen to in other countries when you're on the beach, when you're flying, when you're driving through the middle of no where >>>>>>> depending on streaming servicesthink of all the hours you would spend searching for albums, downloading them, finding the album artwork, syncing it on to your phone/ipod, hoping the sound quality is high and all that bullshytyou've literally taken days away from your life and space on your hard drive
and this has been going on since the napster, bearshare, kazaa days
i pay $10/month for spotify premium and i still cant fukkin belive all the music i get
every artist, album, even mixtapes
and yes you can download them onto your phone at 320k/bits

I'm one of the few people who felt some type of way about the OG iPod being retired, i love having 90 gigs of music on me at all times, no other devices have that amount of storage anymore.
yea, it is...this past year, i only updated my ipod like 3 times. i download a shytload of music onto my work laptop/save it to dropbox but hardly ever transfer it since i don't open my personal laptop when i'm at home, i'm strictly on the ipad or my phone...that's the reason i'm slowly giving into copping a paid subscription to Spotifyif you choose the "available offline" option then you store the songs on your phone and dont need even type of internet connection what so everwhen i go to the gym i put my phone on airplane mode and bump all my music from spotify
but i know what you mean about the having an old school ipod with 80+gigs without the need of some subscription and knowing you own all that music and spent years into your collection/playlist... i would still be doing the same but its just too time consuming searching and downloading everything on your own when someone makes it so easy for you for just $10
apple is suppose to add beats music to its next iOS in march and for only $5 a month

man, being born from 78-88 seems to be GOAT...so much struggle you got to experience, but young enough to fully integrate into all the new tech that keeps coming out
I'm saying. I still remember my mother getting a Beta Max VCR. Thats when I saw The Thing (the original) for the first time. Movie scared my young ass shytless I didnt trust anybody thinking they were aliens in disguise.Man, don't even get me started............... I went from my grandparents 8-tracks, to cassettes, to cd's and md's, and messed with DAT and DCC for a bit. On the video side............. Beta, VHS, 8mm, DV, Laserdisc, DVD, HD-DVD, and finally Blu-ray. Tv's were CRT's, DLP's, LCD, LED, OLED,and now 4K. I worked in the a/v industry for a bit so I've seen, owned, and messed with most of the tech over the last 20-25yrs. And don't get me going on computers and cell phones.........

Now you have befor links as soon as the shyt leaks
Also not too young where you're spoiled rotten with all the tech out and you can appreciate the struggle.
The reason I can't get with spotify is because I love owning my music but I really do miss being able to just type in an album and add .rar or mediafire or megaupload to it and find it. My homie and I talk about that all the time. We're rats on a sinking ship at this point
