I was actually surprised when I went online and was still kicking ass. I used to work my friends for the most part. I remember a few occasions playing dudes who swore they were the truth and would murder em. I got online and still won a bunch but it lost the fun factor. I've always prided myself in staying away from cheats and glitches or money plays trying to win by mixing up strategies and being able to win any way. After playing online enough found that I spent every game trying to counter cheesers than actually playing with strategy. shyt just got corny after a while playing person after person all using the same methods.

I've gotten way better in Street Fighter 5 since it's come out. And like said before, I study. Watch tourney vids, practice mode, train with nikkas 4-5 ranks above me...go down to my level and im straight washing nikkas.

MLB The Show used to wash nikkas online. BAD. Last year, nikkas started copping computer monitors and loading up on all the pitchers who throw 97-101.

2k and Madden full of cheaters these days.

you can't compete with them nerds.. and it's not that they are better.. they are STUDYING

you showing up to class and winging it on tests, getting b's.. these motherfukkers studying 3 hours a night and getting A pluses.. i'm just not willing to do that shyt

i used to be avg with most games, win some, lose some.. from madden to SF to tekken to soul calibur to 2k. sometimes an out of town nikka would visit. he might get the work, he might not

but when tekken came out, i was constantly getting my ass kicked.. couldn't do shyt.. my mans was beating my ass 100 out of 100 times.. then i found out why.. this motherfukker went and bought the strategy guide, and would sit around all night in practice mode, studying combos and moves and shyt.. but never told anyone else, who was playing simply on discovery and "let me pause real quick and see what my moves are"

and this is why i say they aren't better......... i sat at his house for one day and read that book.. instead of skimming around, i settled in on Jin and learned all his shyt.. 8 hit combos and all.. combo breakers and all

i never lost at that game again... ever... tekken tag came out... Jin and Jun... them nikkas didn't even want to play the game if i was over there. they jumping around to characters, i stick with what i studied.. bodied nikkas

now skip to today.. nikkas is watching youtube vids of what plays work.. what ways to exploit shyt.. little tells and glitches.. 3 page move lists.. 100 hit combos.. map downloads.. where to hide.. what weapons are the best in what conditions.. on mics doing full out army strategies

man i don't have time for that bullshyt.. i just fire up the game and play :yeshrug:

but if i did... :demonic:

I mean, you are right. But the fact you and those other people actually went and studied and retained that knowledge MADE you better.

Those nerds who study this stuff all the time, they ARE better BECAUSE they study. A regular dude could potentially duplicate their results by putting the same amount of work in but the fact they aren't willing to put the time in is what separate them from their superiors. That's pretty much how everything in life works.

This is true. The dominant strategy gets figured out quickly because everybody plays online. After a while the whole game is reduced to two or three ways of playing. Get's boring real quick.

Makes me miss the arcade experience.

I stayed beating cats at fighting games that should have beaten me because they were technically better. But I was good at trash talk.

Like the kind where you get so angry you couldn't concentrate
