Ya'll believe and report everything and anything about his good deeds with no proof.

Dude is definitely confident. Reasonable Doubt is deserving of the praise. Though he came out flossing on boats and shyt it was complete fire. I never like the mafia image dudes used to try to portray but Jay’s beats and raps were undeniable from the jump. He grew up with face of a Sahara desert beast too. I’m a Nas Stan but you can’t take nothing away from Jay-z success.
Thread has nothing to do with downplaying his success :dwillhuh:

Anyone seen the interview he did on Dave Letterman’s Netflix series?

he is on stage having a conversation in front of maybe a couple hundred (?) people and was visibly nervous. It looked like he would rather be anywhere else on earth. Letterman had to work extra hard to get him to ease up and make the interview watchable.

I’m not hating on Jay. I really respect a lot of his music. But I remember being shocked at how little charisma he had.

I did. He was the same on Bill Maher, like shy and awkward.

Traumatic shyt from your childhood really plagues you, on some level, throughout your entire life. Jay-z has said girls used to call him ugly and not really mess with him until he started hustling and getting money... despite having wild money and wild fame and a beautiful wife, etc... that doesn't erase the trauma and effect that shyt obviously had. That's probably why he's so awkward and has said he loathes having to do photoshoots and shyt...that's all part of it. Bro is a superstar with low self-esteem.

I know Camron laughing at him and calling him ugly probably fukked him up, he would never admit it tho. That's foul Cam.

Spend the money on therapy then

:scusthov:

He's a grown man and we're still supposed to feel bad because some chicks called him ugly 40 years ago? Where's the accountability? But ya'll will let him tell you how to build generational wealth with no self esteem

I'm not really speaking towards the "we should feel bad for him" thing...I'm just touching on the why, why he comes off like that.

"Aint no such thing as an ugly billionaire, I'm cute"

Exactly, he was still hoping at 50 he was somehow considered cute
:gucci:

I can't follow this man
:childplease:

He's responsible for his own trauma and healing. With the connections he has he can clear that shyt up and not project it under a false bravado to his audience. This is exactly why at this age, it started to look weirder and more funny in the light.

At the end of the day he was in competition with them. There is no buddy buddy in this at all.

Also since Jay had power earlier than most and never gave it up really it makes him look more powerful than others who had power or “hot runs” who couldn’t sustain it or themselves. But at the same time I think about this a lot in regards to new things in things I like for example in the NBA we got new young guys like Zion,Luka, and LeMelo all under the age of 23 how can I frame them into the logic that the only players worthy of my attention are champions like Lebron, Steph, and KD I have to separate them and give them their time. In music there never really was someone to do that in a way that got a big run since the industry left the era where the numbers were so big. So even now so many cats fall in comparison to Jay. That in addition to giving them time they have to have their own experiences. But also it’s human nature that jealousy of someone more successful than you makes you feel like your shyt is real and theirs is fake so when I think about music like that it makes me think again about how there are always trends in music that sometimes grow into bigger waves but there’s always criticism from people not doing it but who aren’t even successful enough. (Conscious rap is a scam like why put out music you know won’t sell just to turn around and yell about how you not selling and how people selling more than you sold their soul to the devil)

An example is the perceived hard rap post Biggie like Biggie was rapping gutter shyt that looked nice and now we look at it like it was a comedy because it got framed as shiny suits. More people were getting killed then. As a fan of rap I felt a way because people were killed and died in front of people but it became like their lives were worthless in a way especially by peers in that 97-99 era. Any Jay thing has to include Biggie and since we live in a world where people were below Biggie and were able to drop more music than him it goes again to Basketball analogies in hindsight the Jordan Bulls are a super team that would’ve held up in any era because Toni Kukco was the best basketball player from his country, Jordan the best in the world, the best defender in the world in Pippen, the best rebounder in the world in Rodman. So if Big’s two albums holding up close to three decades it changes how Jay is like the Spurs if anything. There’s narratives in hip hop that to this day frame things in a way so that perception became reality and in that a certain cynicism that became apathy ruined hip hop like great as Nas is he got so much shyt and got shytted on so much but he never gave us trash trash but at the same time Jay-Z gave us some garbage that we love because at the time mad shyt he said had the perception of being cool like that song of him on them screaming Indians.

God bless the dead but DMX was on drugs and didn’t really have that great of an work ethic especially considering he could’ve ate off the bald black man run. It was Drink Champs and other podcasts that told stories about how DMX wouldn’t answer calls of people trying to give him millions of dollars. Hollywood wanted to build franchises off of him. Tupac was going to be Mace Windu and Baby Boy thats two movies we know about imagine the big blockbusters DMX could’ve did in addition to the music. Meanwhile Jay in a way became the Ralph Lauren of hip hop by giving us lifestyle that had elements of it all.

In hindsight Jay took care and managed shyt like a man and to not give him his credit for that is disrespectful because the people that weren’t handling their shyt get more love after rock bottom. So if anything Jay is kinda like Floyd by playing the game within the game within the game he won while contemporaries who are viewed as legends who he beat today talk like they punch drunk. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. A lot of these dudes wasted gifts and some of their flaws lead to amazing music but them flaws probably put them in jail or got them killed.

Nah. Jay has purposely stopped movements from happening because of his hating snake ways. It's not just that he outsmarted everyone. That's one thing. But to destroy the initiatives of others because it may have the potential to dwindle your star because 1, they didn't want to include you or 2, you lacked the creativity on your own to pull it off, is what he has been doing.
He really is a snake and this thread is about me as a fan finally realizing that. He's a sheisty, snake and a shady individual. Who cares about all the accolades and the acclaim when you've attained it by being low down, but proclaiming to the world you're a good dude. Everybody can't be lying about this guys behavior. You can write all you want about him playing the game, but the general consensus about the type of person he is, is mentioned time and time again. Even Solange, who for the most part seems drama free, molly wopped this nikka in a elevator at the MET Gala with no fukks given whether they'd be caught. That should tell you something.

This thread is about my realization. It's alot of grown men and women who will defend him till the end. But if something like that was done to them, they'd hate the person but still think Jay is a cool guy. That's why it's so many idiots who keep coming in here saying I'm just hating because they can't say anything better.
