There are at least 10 teams giving Griffin a hard look, these sources say.
he could be a good backup qb
Colin Kaepernick, Robert Griffin III don't have bright NFL future | The MMQB with Peter King
It will. Cousins is not a long term answer for starter.Imma laugh at Washington if this turns into a Drew Brees/Saints situation![]()
And this article is why no one fukks with Peter King's website like that. Ole boy is parroting narratives provided by the two teams that were openly waging a PR battle against their QBs last year which were idiotic arguments. For all the shyt the 49ers talked about Kaep they're trying hard as fukk to keep him and Washington took their PR bullshyt so far they're stuck with giving Kirk Cousins 21 million this year which everyone knows is going to end horribly.
The truth about both is that they're still young QBs that had a massive amount of success early and then at the first sign of them showing their inexperience, which is something everyone should expect to happen with young QBs, their fanbase, team, and the media turned on them damn near immediately. They still have the same talent that got them the early success they just need coaches that'll teach them instead of listening to people who want to be the first to be right about someone's downfall. It's ridiculous how many cats were waiting to say "I don't you so" about them because they had more success than Luck's more traditional QB style.
Edit: I've said this before, but Bob should be looking VERY hard at the Cardinals. He'd be under Carson for a year, learn from Arians, and inherit so many weapons it'd be dumb.
But this was a pretty thought out article by someone who's clearly watched tons of tape on these guys and talked to numerous scouts who breaks down exactly why these guys won't be as good as they were from a straight football level from mechanics to accuracy etc breaking down all of their strengths and weaknesses
Doesn't mean he's gonna be right but it's a more in depth researched article on these players then the opinions of people here who are simply fans who want them to do well
I want both of them to do well, but that doesn't mean I'm not objective. The only thing they're slightly correct about is Bob's lack of pocket presence, but it doesn't broach the subject that his line was horrible. A QB can't make passes when his two guards are openly whiffing on blocks in the pre-season. We have no idea how Bob would've handled the regular season because Gruden bailed on him because of a concussion then proceeded to throw everyone under the bus in protection of Kirk which led to pundits throwing everyone under the bus in defense of Kirk.
The thing about reporters going to scouts/watching tons of tape is that certain things can't be determined without direct and intimate knowledge of the team's strategy on the week of the game itself or talking to the principle architect of it and I'm quite sure Harbaugh/Shanny wasn't on hand to break down film. For example, he's mentioning throws to the flat to the fullback intended to give easy throws for Kaep, but those will NEVER be the primary option of a play. They'll make it an easy outlet, but it won't be the primary focus of a play unless the FB is Mike Alstott and it's very highly plausible for Kaep to be throwing to the number 1 option of the play instead of taking the fullback in the flat. This guy calls that a sandlot throw, but Kaep could just believe he could make the throw to the number 1 option. When looking at film from the outsider's perspective you can only judge how you would read the situation instead of how it's planned by the team. I've seen several instances where the number 1 option on a single play has not only changed during the course of the week, but in the middle of the game itself....and sometimes during pre-snap, but without that knowledge you can't have any idea to say how someone should've made a decision or that a decision was even bad. That's my primary issue with these articles. They stat things as if they're factual, but they need to add that caveat of "Hey. These are mostly guesses since we really don't know the actual intent or unique decision path of the play call, but only the overall design".
