Give him a full season without CP3 and I'm sure he would improve at that phase of the game, dude looks like that because he always has to balance out attacking with getting the ball back to The Dribbler.
The way his game is now he'd be better off with a Lillard / Irving type of offensive minded PG that doesn't always need the ball and can effectively be a SG when they don't have it.
When Griffin ran the team last year, when Paul was out, you could see immense growth on his part in a very short time. People said the playoffs this year was his coming out party, but most of the stuff he managed to do this year was from what he gained last year. The guy's attacking on the fast break is way better without Paul as he just attacks or sets someone else up, there is no indecisiveness in him to stop and pass it back to Paul.
Griffin is already a solid passer and a good playmaker on the break and that's only with a short time without Paul. he could grow a lot next year if they got rid of him and then got another all star with him either this off-season or next. At the moment, if they keep things the way they are, there's no way they're ever leaving the second round as the Thunder will be back next year as well as a lot more hungry teams. It's not going to get any easier for the Clippers and they're all maxed out on the cap.
