On his way out the door as a lame duck president he also gave the US military permission to program US weapons to be used by Ukraine to attack Russia which is an unnecessary escalation after he said he wouldn’t do it for months. Just like he said he wouldn’t pardon his crackhead son.

this isn't true. They wouldn't willingly lose all the seats just to get Trump elected; and have all their legislation undone. Nancy Pelosi also wouldn't have picked Kamala if that were the case.
if anything he was president already, and saw he was having some difficulties. However they clearly had some confidence in him, because they wouldn't have done the debate and the state of the union. The state of the union turned out perfectly fine, so they probably felt he'd be similar in the debate.
Biden's admin still has the most progressive and active legislative achievements of any admin, it doesn't benefit them to let Trump in and have that completely undone.
It's not even that Trump is "Hitler", it's that his economic policies and lack of regulation he'll constitute certainly isn't...good. do you not care about that? not to mention the amount of anti-black shyt that's likely going to get passed.
Trump did the same thing from 16-20 and he supposedly is mentally stable
