NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — You know you’ve hit rock-bottom when you’re getting passed over for bowling — celebrity bowling.

ESPN announced on Wednesday night that it will not air the Knicks-Lakers matinee on Super Bowl Sunday. Understandable, as the ‘Bockers are a league-worst 7-36 and the Lakers are 12-31.

But what is the network replacing the NBA matchup with, you ask?

None other than a celebrity bowling event, the New York Post reports.

Seriously.

According to the newspaper, this marks the seventh time this season that ESPN/ABC has decided not to broadcast a previously-scheduled Knicks game.

The celebrity bowling event will be hosted by Clippers point guard Chris Paul.

“They’ve been looking at pulling that Super Bowl game for a while — more the Knicks than the Lakers,” a source told the newspaper.

The New York Post also reports that TNT has pulled next week’s (Jan. 29) Knicks-Pacers game.

New York snapped its franchise-worst 16-game losing streak this past Monday when it beat the Pelicans, then made it two in a row with a victory over the lowly 76ers on Wednesday.

The Knicks will host the Magic at Madison Square Garden on Friday night and then take on the Hornets in Charlotte on Saturday.
