I was tripping in high school and I thought about running away when I got out the car because I knew she was about to go loco but I knew she would probably run me down and dropkick me out my shoes at 2 in the morning. That ride from school to home felt like I was on a prison bus

My nephew was a class clown and his daddy came up to the school in the third grade and beat his ass in front of the whole classroom. It really left him scarred for life.

I think corporal punishment should be used at the discretion of parents but limits need to be put on it. I’ve seen kids get 30-40 licks for the smallest of shyt.

I do think it goes to an extreme. I’ve seen parents punching children, making you kneel in sand, making you hold books with your arms outright for 15-30 minutes, crazy shyt.

therapy would help a lot of people, young and old

I didn't get my ass whupped for trivial shyt, I do think that's going overboard. When I got that work, I can't say that I didn't deserve it.

holding books or kneeling in sand (as long as it ain’t burning) is not extreme. It’s not hitting, shows consequences exist, and can help build good concentration/discipline

shyt for us getting naked was a requirement. My mom's weapon of choice was them thick as extension cords. I remember my cousins complaining about getting whooped and all shocked "mom made us pull our pants down". Funny enough I ended up well behaved and never in trouble while they stayed in some shyt.

I deserved every one of the whoopings too so I never held resentment.
