trading pick this year is a good idea, the draft is not gonna be that nice, but its gonna take a master plan to fool a team to trade their superstar for high pick + ok talent

Lakers bout to be in the dungeon for the next 7-8 years.. No superstar free agent wants to go there & forever be under Kobe's shadow & legacy :wow:

Sorry to my Southern Cali brehs, but I don't see the light for ysll :mjcry:

First it was "no one wants to play with Kobe" now it's "no one wants to follow after Kobe"
I guess after 8 years Kobe's shadow disappears huh?

I swear if they trade this pick for a cancerous loser like Cousins I'm done being a Lakers fan

Unless it's for Durant, keep the fukking pick
the delusion is strong in here, okc beat the spurs making them the 2nd best team in the west, I am pretty sure durant is staying for one more year, they have a strong team all of a sudden, why quit all the chemistry and everything that built through years and leave the team for a team thats significantly worse, that is rebuilding and that still has a very questionable front office? Oh yeah and stephen a annoying him with the laker rumors. Durant has a top 5 player as his teammate, he will not get this anywhere else unless he joins warriors which is also highly unlikely.

Durant coming to the Lakers is a pipe dream. I think the majority of Lakers fans know this

I'm just saying that unless we're getting a player of his caliber keep the pick

Yeah.. T-Mac, Grant Hill, Duncan, Etc didn't wanna go to the Bulls in 2000 for same reason.

. Took about 8 years til they drafted D-Rose until they were relevant.. But I don't see any D-Rose type, franchise changing players in this draft or the next 5-7 years, based off the top middle school rankings I peeped on ScoutKings, :yeshrug:

I hope you realize that durant has a once in a decade type of talent, a 2nd pick of a pretty average draft year for a player with Durant caliber is additional piece, you need more than that. Who else is Durant caliber, Paul George? You would need George to be completely fed up with the organization so he could force a trade outta the city and then Pacers listening to what type of offers they get and this is where Lakers could offer young players and a high draft pick because I am sure there would be tons of teams offering really nice pieces for a Durant caliber player.

So what should teams do, just trade away their high picks for the next 5-7 years since there are no impact players coming out? Go find any 5-7 year period in NBA history where there were no franchise changing players who came in the draft.

Lakers getting/not getting FAs has to do with their front office, not Kobe.

Teams should draft, & groom the players for 3-5 years and hopefully they work out..

But Lakers are a different animal, they need to win now.. Time Warner is on their ass with this new TV Deal, NBA needs the Lakers brand to be relevant, & unlike most cities, the NBA is #1 in L.A, so the fans are not patient..

If they had the 3rd pick I would believe this, but Simmons and Ingram are potential stars.

In no way possible is the league not gonna get Simmons to the Lakers let's be real.

This board keeps running with this narrative :heh:

The league isn't giving the Lakers anything. If they were they would've let CP3 go to LA. :yeshrug:

Or at least give them a higher pick than 7 in 2014. :ld:

Or give them a higher pick than 2 last year. :jbhmm:

Or give them a higher pick than 2 this year. :stopitslime:
