The NFL is now selling the opportunity to perform at the halftime show to the highest bidder. The biggest selling point is there is no other opportunity out there in which you can perform in front of the eyes of 100 million people

and i feel mixed about this, i don't see the 40/45+ crowd appreciating her. i personally don't think she's half time material even tho i like her songs. bruno mars, even if older folks didn't know him, makes music they can appreciate, katy is a hot mess and very much of the millennial generation.

artists have to pay for travel, transport of equipment, lodging, etc.. they are not paying to be on stage, but for the logistics related to getting themselves, equipment, and team to the show. NFL used to cover all that (yet they never payed the artist to perform - artists performed for free), supposedly not this year tho which brought about the skewed headline "pay to play"

She's not black, so NFL execs are all in their minds. No wardrobe malfunctions or giving the bird or anything that would be an FCC violation.
