Yep, that's a dude who makes it happen. Since 2010 when Houston was trash and bulls had the best record in the league, they have acquired harden ariza Howard and Josh smith. Wanna know who the bulls have acquired in that time span? Rip Hamilton and pau gasol.

It amazes me how other teams can at least try to get creative and add pieces while bulls fans are always told how thier hands are tied and there is no deals out there for us to make.

Ariza is looking like a steal @ 4 years/32 mil with what similar 3 and D players are asking for this off-season.

Some team will happily take on Ariza's contract if HOU has to move him to create cap space.

and it's a unique deal to in that ariza's salary decreases each year. morey is all about that flexibility. that's how come he's always throwing his hat into the ring because he has the flexibility to make moves. it's up the player at that point if he wants to come.

anyway the rockets went with morey and the analytics route way back in 2007 because we were struggling adding the right pieces around t-mac and yao. when you have 2 big players your gm has to be able to find talent either through trade, free agency or the draft. he almost pulled it off early in his tenure with the artest trade but with our cursed luck; t-mac's knee died and yao's foot said fukk it ... still got to the 2nd round that year and took the eventual champions lakers to 7 games. obviously analytics isn't about finding harden (although there were questions about whether he could be a #1 option) and dwight howard. it's about developing the roster around them within the constraints of the financial rules. if bosh had signed last year the rockets would have matched and overpaid parsons and pay the luxury tax because they would have felt that was a championship caliber squad. they lucked out (parson's knee and bosh's blood clots), but sometimes you just gotta be lucky. but if you trace every major move the rockets made to get the big players it was because of a shyt load of smaller underrated moves that morey made.

i'm fine with that because i'm a big d-mo fan. think he can be that player for us, but it's not my job on the line so i can see why he would want to move things around to get the sure thing in aldridge and dwight's clock is ticking faster these days.

Because Ariza needs to fire his agent if that's the case.

Demarre Carroll out here getting 15 mil/year, if Ariza would've taken a one year deal last off-season he could've gotten PAID.
