this blaming of absentee fathers shyt has to stop.
throw the blame on them for not providing food, shelter, guidance, protection and a presence to their wives and kids. Its understandable. But for the parcel of outsiders who are living/breathing beneficiaries of centuries of the byproducts of CAC privilege to act innocent/oblivious to the real issues facing this world is insane.
I make NO EXCUSE for dude who bucked at the cop because he provoked everything that happened that night. But the root of the troubles of the so-called inner-city are planted deeply in how strategic these CACs have been in investing in eroding the core of an entire segment of people. I'm not gonna make excuses for ratchetness and all the present day fukkery that continues to cripple our communities throughout this country. But I'm explaining a REASON why we (yes we) are where we stand regardless of the success/progress of a handful of Negroes. CACs know what I'm about to say but Negroes simply don't. But these fukkers have invested uncountable amounts of money, engineered strains under the guise of medical science, manipulated the course of even the basics of education, funded/prompted our own infighting AND PHYSICALLY separated the family structures of the modern versions of our present day families.
The same level of barbarism that these talking heads and cowards bemoan/vow to strike against for the greater good seem to develop a sense of amnesia when it comes to recalling the centuries of terror specifically engineered and deployed on people of African decent in this country. They behave as if Jim Crow (which occurred in the lifetime's of people in our own families) is something we should simply "get over" or not care about since it didnt specifically happen to us younger ones. Yet the plight and atrocities of other groups never leave the public consciousness, get dramatized in Hollywood, and become a catalyst of replenishing the infrastructure of said groups. And if theres a hint of dissent toward these groups (ask Dwight and Rihanna), expect swift action and to be publicly tarred/feathered in the court of public opinion.
So what's it all mean?
It means today what it meant 50 years ago, 100 years ago, 200 years ago and beyond. The society we subscribe to live in today doesnt want us around. And not even in the sense of living next door or even in the same city. They do not want our EXISTENCE to be around, much less matter. So while we may get a few streets named after MLK and such or have a handful of us praised for singing/athletic abilities, or even "ascending" to the highest office in the land.
When its all said and done, all we have is what we've had since the beginning, and that's US.
We might have a few of us sprinkled in corporate jobs, be able to buy the kind of clothes that make us "shine," pull chicks and PAWG out like its nothing and move to whatever neighborhoods our money can afford BUT we need to realize that all we have US.
I don't care. Police are enemies of black America, and I won't shed a single fukking tear at the news of a cop getting killed.
