The way I see things the elites probably saw the violence was getting out of control and though this isnt good for business and took Jovnel Moise out the paint. The gangs that backed the opposition were fighting the gangs backed Jovnel Moise. This lead to months of bloody violence and street battles. The situation was getting out of control to the point that massacres were happening. So this may have been done to try stem the violence. Will it? I done know. What I think is likely to happen next is the acting president will abandon the referendum. Elections will be announced at a later date. This alone will likely have the opposition of the streets and focus on the elections. Elections happen and another puppet will be elected. And nothing will be done the status quo will stay the same.
