the government (king of england) charters a colony built around some commodity like tobacco, the people begin to rely on welfare programs created by the native americans to get them through the roughest times, then resort to rampant theft and murder to increase their gains instead of relying on slow profits from tobacco
in this situation, i see crony capitalism, welfare, and non-competitive/anti-freedom practices helping america become what it is today. pointing out how bad they had it illuminates what they did to get out of it, and none of it has anything to do with what i hear libertarians talk about today. i cant even think of one real example of a libertarian success in nationalistic terms. america certainly is not one.
