I hear you but they’re not comparable imo. Discord is great for quick, realtime chats and building community, but it’s messy for shyt like finding old threads and info. Coli and forums like it are slower but keep discussions organized and easy to follow. I don’t think either will supplant the other.

I read the headline and thought "Makes sense, companies want their employees to appear happy and helpful to customers". A good clip of the thread of ppl complaining about it. Only valid complaint is if you get spammed with that shyt by a bunch of employees, but other than that, it's regular shyt a company wants from it's employees. They mad that they want you to smile. Apparently they think you cant smile w/o looking like pennywise or something. They legit mad they cant ask the customer "Can I help you
?"
Then the posters(and a mod) dog piled onto some poster because the poster was calling them weird for having a problem with it and got banned lmao.
How the fukk are you not gonna do something (especially something as simple as smile at customers) but dont want to quit? If you not in a position to quit then suck it up and do what they requiring you to do
Then the various posts about The Game Awards were funny too. That's like one of the first times I saw posters calling other posters out for being fake as hell and basically begging for stuff to be banned to act like they making a change in the world. The fact that shyt happened over the TGAs is funny as hell

*Some past Futures inductees exposed how TGA/Geoff treated them poorly. Had to pay for everything, including tickets to the show, even though they were being honored.

First world problems. Imagine the topic of serious discussion being that you're extremely bothered by employees being told to smile and interact with clients. That's just basic customer service, when I used to work at Staples I was told to greet clients and help them if I saw one. These people are so unserious.

That rule is really just a lever for HR to use to let go of people who refuse to do the actual job. It's been the case in retail forever but they need to spell it out now because basic social skills and manners have completely eroded in 2025 - otherwise they have no policy to deal with staff like that
