I'm getting bored with QB's winning the majority of the Heisman awards. Charles Woodson is the only player to break that barrier and win it as a Defensive player. JJ Watt was a monster in College but he had no chance of winning the Heisman against all those QBs, especially Cam Newton. Just goes to show how people only seem to care about the positions that put points on the board. No problem with that, but at some point in time shyt gets old.

When are we gonna get that next Charles Woodson? Shane Ray from Mizz had a good season. Landon Collins, Scoby Wright III, Joey Bosa all great defensive players this year. Nobody talking about it. Or Barely...

Just something to talk about ya dig?

No player that primarily plays defense will ever win the Heisman again.

Same for NFL MVP, the awards need to be renamed to most valuable QB...and sometimes RB (altho I don't think RB's will be seeing many of these any longer as well).

Gordon and cooper both have legitimate arguments but mariotta put up some unheard of numbers this year.

its pretty much a qb award and mark ingram will probably be the last non qb to win it.

It blew my mind reading article after article talking about the only MVP candidates being Manning, Brady, Luck and Rodgers as if Murray hadn't been killing it week after week and covering up for the inconsistent Cowboys passing game. As crazy of a year as Murray is having and he can barely get a mention for MVP. Just nuts.

Ndamukong Suh probably the last defensive player who had a shot. I think he should have won it over Mark Ingram. :dwillhuh:I'm shocked at people being shocked all of a sudden that Mariota is going to win it. He's been right at the door of winning it since he was a freshman. He's got slightly better #s than Jameis did last year.

Not shocked at all. Just bored by it. Another year, another QB winning the Heisman. Meh

This is a weird year to complain about it though. Mariota had a straight-up sick year, and no one on defense was nearly as dominant. Scooby should have picked up more votes, but he shouldn't have even touched the lead.

I was pissed off when Suh didn't win it. That was a legit year that a defender deserved the award.

The truth is, though, that QBs have a bigger effect on every single play than anyone else does. The dumb thing is for RBs and WRs to be in the running - a fantastic d-lineman has a way bigger impact on the game than a running back ever will (RBs do little without a good line - Dallas's o-line deserves most of Murray's credit). After the QB, the LT should get more props than anyone else on the offense.
