I think L could have really been a huge talent and artist, I think we missed an era of what Hip Hop could have become with the deaths of L, Pun, Pac, Big etc. Those 4 could have been running ish along with some others. All had unique talent and skillset.

Wasnt the killer trying to shoot Big Ls brother apparently and killed him by mistake?

yea it was mistaken identity, L wasnt really a big street dude like that. people liked him

he had an odd career, Lifestylez didnt do much at all when it came out, took a hiatus then got killed before Big Picture was finished. i think he had plenty of classics ahead of him, me and my boy were heartbroken when it popped up on Yahoo news that he passed

Big Ls death wasnt a case of mistaken identity. He was killed by one of his old friends from the NFL crew that him and his brothers belong to. Both Ls brothers were in the streets, and Ls mom who at the time was a home care nurse??? But she used to run numbers. The strongest rumor was that two of his former Nfl crew (Gerard Woodley, and Reggie?) members were involved in the death of one Ls cousins. Ls middle brother Leroy order some of his other cousins to take out Reggie, who at least one person that knew both Leroy and Reggie would mark by placing a chain on Reggie's neck. This implies the shooters or Leroy n Ls cousins may not have known Reggie or Gerard. Anyway according to his brother, even though he was not supposed to be there, L ended up being the one to place the chain on Reggie. The night of his death L was shot a ridiculous amount of times and once in the face I believe. Gerard was picked up by the Police but ended up being released, before getting locked up again. He eventually disappeared, but not before another killing. It seems that since the beef was between friends, people did and do not want to talk. The most updated development came upon Leroy's release, during which he claimed that everyone sold out L because they knew who did it and wouldnt help. After hiding from Leroy, Woodley and another accomplice Rudy Meyers, payed a relative by the name of Pistachio to kill Leroy, which he did.

The latest from his surviving brother Donald seems to be that L was killed because Gerard Woodley thought he would be the next hit as Leroy may have threatened him at some earlier time. Ls brother claimed Leroy only wanted Reggie done. He witnessed L at the scene of Reggies death and did his math. Also it appears on the night of Ls death Gerard forced Ls bestfriend to set him up , by calling him to meet up. Sad.
