I was listening to the 2nd album and Slippin' was playing when I got the news. Started crying like a baby.

I'm sorry for you and all DMX fans in this thread. Losing a celebrity that you identified with or you were a big fan of is never easy. Even if you didn't meet the person, it's like you lose a part of yourself when it happens.

I remember when Phife Dawg died, my best friend messaged me about it when I was in class. I was legitimately fukked up for the rest of the day and it was hard to talk about it with anyone because they didn’t even know who he or A Tribe Called Quest was. And you even changed your avi, that's how I know DMX meant a lot to you.

You're one of my favorite posters here, so I'm hoping you get through the day. You and the rest of X's diehard fans.

I don't find it funny breh I find it infuriating, I got the day off and ended up jumping on the liquor as soon as I hear the news. Am a former addict myself but ain't one of those that just swicthed to sober life, Only gave up the drugs, giving up the liquor will come later but this should be a wake up call for me cause in my heart I truly believe X was clean from the drugs now but was still drinking.

Take it a day at a time. You can overcome that bullshyt too if you got over the other shyt. Stay strong breh.

This whole situation is time warping me back to Late 97 through all of 1998. This is wild how music is like a time machine and can take you back to moments instantly. I watched "Belly" on the big screen then brought it on VHS and still have the tape. It was all white like cover. Soundtrack was fire too. I'm sure we will be seeing "Belly" on a lot of televisions in the coming weeks. Actually X had a lot of movies that will be getting play.

I always liked this track because he went and got Stephanie Mills to sing the hook from her song instead of using her voice for a sample. Peace Earl and Thank You. Rest in Glory.

I was a real stan during his peak 1998-2003. Read his book E.A.R.L., watched all his movies and obviously bought all his albums. You will be missed DOG!

I'm bout ready to go off on some white folks at work. I jump on a conference call and as I get on there it's about 7 or 8 40-60 year old white people on there. One was in the middle of saying that DMX had passed away and how sad it was. Another jumps in saying he didn't know he had 11 kids. Then this white bytch chimes in with "probably has a whole bunch of baby mommas too", "you know how that type is". Somebody throws out that he was a great rapper and great at what he did and she throws back out, apparently he was great at making kids and probably doesn't even know most of them.

First got introduced to DMX through these two videos here as a young breh in the 90s.







When I saw the “Ruff Ryders Anthem” video, I instantly became a fan, but when I saw the “What’s My Name?” video though it was on (Couldn’t wait for it to drop during the Verzuz battle with Snoop)

You knew he was the truth. The energy and storytelling he put in his tracks was pure raw and will never be matched. Thanks X for being apart of my childhood Rest up. Sending my condolences out to your family.
