11 years ago today, Hip Hop was brought to it's knees with the heartbreaking news of J DIlla, "Jay Dee", "James Yancey's" death. One of the greatest to ever pick up the MPC. A pivotal icon in the genre, a pioneer. You were much more than just a beat smith from the heart of Detroit. You were and still are greatness, and can never be replaced....Rest in power James "Dilla" Yancey.
