i've literally purchased an average of 8 items per week online for the past 8 years, i've been shipped the wrong thing once - they let me keep that product free of charge and shipped me the right one overnight. things i order from places that have brick & mortar stores all accept returns/exchanges from web purchases in store so it's never an issue - hell, half the time i go to macy's and sometimes at nordstrom i end up having to order the right color/size of an item i like anyway - could have saved a trip to the store had i just shopped online. yall try too hard to overcomplicate online shopping, it's not 2004 anymore.Then it comes and it's wrong cause of human error. Now you gotta call them to tell them it's wrong send it back when u can and wait again for the right one.

Sort of. If you don't take advantage of all their benefits, then its not worth it.
I use it to watch amazon prime shows and movies. And there's free shipping. and free ebooks.
If someone is just getting free shipping, they would need to be a frequent shopper to get their membership fee back.

Which is why certain kinds of brick and mortar retail will never die. But logically speaking, online shopping just makes so much more sense. Think about how much wasted time brick and mortar retail requires. Most people are at work now. Who is at the mall? Meanwhile I can buy something online at work.
Savvy brick and mortar businesses are riding the wave. For example a lot of grocers are doing online shop and in person pickup. Very smart use of resources and a win-win for everybody. The only constant is change. Adapt or dieThe real tragedy here is that the powers that be aren't helping people to make necessary transitions. Anyone who was hoping to retire on a retail job was sorely mistaken.
Technology exists where you have 3d mapping of a person's body... So no more going to the store to try on clothes. Gone are the days of Selling snake oil out the back of wagon, retail stores are next
