Right from the horse's mouth a former NY cop ells exactly how to deal with cops and their abuse. He basically says don't say shyt to them, almost equivalent to stop snitching. Interesting enough he also admits some corruption on the part of the NYPD while he is speaking such as the abuse of the people or someone complaining of mistreatment(we knew this though).

Brehs there are endless articles talking about the corruptions and foul ways of the NYPD. This is why whenever an officer DOES comment on it they choose to remain anonymous because they fear they will be reprimanded or retaliated against for crossing the blue line of silence.

It's rare to see one come out like this and a black one at that

I wished he elaborated the risks one faces if one answers seemingly harmless questions to the police
my ultimate wish is for the community to have proper relations with the police department, we need the police department
the police department should not see itself as an occupying force to the black community but as a servant of the community (the same way they interact with the white and wealthy communities), ultimately this means proper training and more black PO's and brass.

Franklin ave.
See, I don't know if I agree with dude's tactics 100%. Just to give an example. About 7 Years ago I'm walking on Franklin ave near union st. I'm wearing a black hoodie, a fitted. . . Typical ghetto wear. Some cops (2 white boys) drive up beside me and asked me straight up, did I shoot anyone in the last few hours. Of course, I tell them no. They ask me if I would mind lifting up me hoodie to reveal my waistline. I comply. He tells me that he doesn't mean to bother me, but a woman was shot no too long ago near St. Johns and the perp was wearing a black hoodie. I tell him that I'm sure he's just doing his job, but it was not me. He says if it were your mom who was shot, I'm sure you'd want us out there working hard to find out who did it too. I agreed. He told me to have a good evening and drove away. I wasn't scared through the ordeal.

Now, say I went the route suggested in the video. I don't think it would have worked out that well for me. Don't make a tense situation needlessly MORE tense. My defense in those situations is my ability to articulate well. To even empathize. In my mind, I think to myself if I were a cop trying to find the dude that shot this woman how would I go about it? What would convince that someone is NOT the perp? Then I use that mentality as my defense. Now, ofcourse those cops could have been lying and were just trying to catch a black man walking around with a gun, but I have no way of knowing that.

Nah, if you get arrested, there's literally NO reason to talk to cops without getting legal counsel first. I mean there's literally no advantage. Even if you say something you think is harmless, cops could easily choose to interpret it in a way that makes you look guilty of something. It's very easy to accidentally incriminate yourself (even if you're innocent) and very unlikely that cops will decide you're not guilty based off anything you say. If they're arresting you, they already think you're guilty. Peep this -

Dude is a law professor/former defense attorney, there's reason to think dude knows what he's talking about.
