Bottom line is white people more likely than not, will be paid at the midpoint or above as long as they request it.
You are already behind in pay. Your next step is moving to a new job because you will not get a raise, especially since you have worked there less than a year. Unless you are a top-performing black person with the squeaky wheel mentality in a successful industry, managers will act as if they don't know how much you are being paid and will act dumb until you give up or accept a meager raise (ie: 3-4%)
