What are some of The Coli's favorite retro games?

For this thread, let's define "retro" as any video game from Pong to the 64-bit era. So roughly... 1975 to 1999.

I've been saying it for the longest. World is great, but the cape made it too easy to fly over whole levels like it was nothing IMO. True, 3 had P-wings but you had to put in work to find those and they were limited.
3 had better powerups and more level variety IMO.

Anybody got some recommendations for less mainstream retro consoles?

I'm building a dedicated Batocera emulation PC with some spare components I have around the house. I'm looking to try out some retro consoles beyond the big ones like NES, SNES, Genesis, etc.
