He had his moments but he wasn't close to being as great as you're making him out to be.
Well I guess that's the problem. I liked his debut but to me it wasn't better than Van Hunt's self titled debut. Or Amel Larrieux's Bravebird or Gaelle's Transient or Jill Scott's Beautifully Human or John Legend's debut or Raphael Saadiq's As Ray Ray or Teedra Moses' Complex Simplicity or Rahsaan Patterson's Afterhours or even Confessions, and that's just 2004 alone.
