Well I guess that's the problem. I liked his debut but to me it wasn't better than Van Hunt's self titled debut. Or Amel Larrieux's Bravebird or Gaelle's Transient or Jill Scott's Beautifully Human or John Legend's debut or Raphael Saadiq's As Ray Ray or Teedra Moses' Complex Simplicity or Rahsaan Patterson's Afterhours or even Confessions, and that's just 2004 alone.

lyfe did what they did, and did it better to the point where he took it further and appealed to wider audiences.

as for usher, hes a product of the people around him.

jill scott & john legend? meh. thats where we differ personally, i guess.
