So here's the actual deal with this thread

Sumo was purchased by tencent. They are a double AA publisher with plans to become a AAA developer. They acquired sumo because they want to let them create AAA games for them AND

They recognize how well they work on other projects and they want sumo to continue doing those types of projects on top of creating something original.
So yes, this move is good for the industry because the industry itself is toxic and would have eventually bankrupted sumo or any smaller studio that can't afford to have a failed game.
