Revisted: Rank Your Top 5 films based on Comic Book Material

I think now is a good time to revisit this. Summer movie season is a couple short months away, I have high hopes for this new Captain America: The Winter Soldier film. Now that Avengers has been out for a couple years it'll be interesting to see whether people think it holds up as the best or not or how people will be ranking Nolan's Batman series. I'm neither a Marvel or DC stan and I would suggest leaving your biases at the door, there's no need for it.

Keep in mind there's some films that I have not yet seen. Without a ton of thought I'm thinking...

1. Road to Perdition
2. The Dark Knight
3. The Avengers
4. Iron Man
5. Watchmen/A History of Violence

I think the thing that holds Avengers back for me is the ambiguous alien race. Loki is great as a side villain but the aliens as the main "threat" doesn't do it for me. The comedic timing is great, I really liked the interaction between all of the heroes but it takes me out of a movie when the villain(s) are weak.

Blade is a great call but I have not seen it in a while. I owned the DVD and then someone borrowed it, never returned it.

I meant live action. If we're discussing animated there are a host of DC joints that are very good.. Most recently I had watched Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and it was great. Gritty and dark as fukk too.

I still like Batman Forever as a more goofy super hero movie. Scott Pilgrim's visuals were borderline GOAT status.
