I'm not sure to be honest, it just says that claimed he was in an argument with construction workers at a gas station and they used racial slurs against him, and he ended up killing the gas station employees when they got involved. I don't know if they knew the construction workers or they were just trying to break it up.

The 29-year-old man held in connection with a double-homicide at a Kent gas station Wednesday morning said he shot construction workers because they directed racial slurs at him, according to probable cause documents.
A judge set bail at $2 million for the man Thursday afternoon.
Kent police fielded reports about 8:37 a.m. of a shooting in the parking lot of the Shell gas station in the 6300 block of South 212th Street. Officers arrived to find two men dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Surveillance images examined by police show a verbal an physical confrontation between the two victims and a black man, followed by a Hispanic man grabbing a firearm from a Cadillac and firing at the victims at close range, according to the affidavit.
Officers eventually identified and arrested the man they believe was the shooter, a Burien resident.
The man admitted to shooting the two men and said that the victims, described as construction workers at the gas station, made racially-charged remarks to him and the black man he was with, reports say.
He said that the men repeated the racial epithets while they were inside the gas station.
The man said their fight was about “disrespect” and said he had to shoot the victims because if he didn’t, his black associate’s family would kill him for not standing up to them.
The Burien man has not been charged. Kent police are looking for a second person for questioning.
