Rewatching early Dexter and damn, Doakes caught more Ls than Vegeta

Never thought about it at the time but Doakes was just a walking L :

- Challenged Dexter at the docks and nearly got his ass kicked.
- No friends, no girl, barely any family.
- Got headbutted and kicked off the force in the span of 3 minutes.
- Turned down a 200K job opportunity only to end up in a cage. SMH
- Thought he broke free, only to be caught by the cartel and put back in the cage.
- Again thought he was saved, only to have his chapter ended by a crazy bytch.
- His few remaining family have to live with the thought of him being a serial killer.

Just L after L, why they have to do the black man like that.

Season 2 Dexter is easily top 5 cable series season ever

I've always said that you can clearly tell that the creators of the show didn't think that a show about a lovable serial killer would last more than 2 seasons hence why A. seasons 1 and 2 were their best seasons and B. they booked Doakes poorly instead of a series long threat to Dexter as he should have been.

All of these "L's" happened in a couple episodes...right before his death. He was bossin' up until that point.

nah, I think maybe Dexter's brother did that. I read these joints over 10 years ago, and there was like 6 or 7 books. they were super different after the first season of the show. there were some people who were some sort of vampires too
