:wtf:

I guess I should give some context, my bad. No need for all the scorn and threats of violence and whatnot...

First off….I think you guys are erroneously associating me saying “one of the worst draft picks ever” with me saying Rex is garbage.

I’m not sayin’ Rex is garbage, lol….he gets props for his college career, for the dunk contest, the clutch shooting in Phoenix, alladat…

But with the exception of a few players, that first round of the ’88 draft was ASS:

Danny Manning (PF)
Rik Smits (C)
Charles Smith (PF)
Chris Morris (SF)
Mitch Richmond (SG)
Hersey Hawkins (SG)
Tim Perry (F)
Rex Chapman (SG)
Rony Seikaly (C)
Willie Anderson (SG)
Will Perdue (C)
Harvey Grant (PF)
Jeff Grayer (PG)
Dan Majerle (SF)
Gary Grant (PG)
Derrick Chievous (SG)
Eric Leckner (C)
Ricky Berry (SF)
Rod Strickland (PG)
Kevin Edwards (SG)
Mark Bryant (PF)
Randolph Keys
Jerome Lane (PF)
Brian Shaw (SG)
David Rivers (PG)

…so I’m sayin’, while I understand that it’s not Rex’s fault what draft he came out in, the fact remains that THAT is a terrible list of players….and HE was selected 8th overall and was Charlotte’s first EVER player drafted. And they go 65-181 over his first three years, because Rex was never really THAT dynamic of an offensive player to where he could take over the game…he was a great complimentary piece, though.

But even that ASIDE, in terms of that entire first round, yeah, IMO he’s “one of the worst draft picks ever”, and really, he's an average pick at best ALL-TIME at 8th overall (to name but a few: Rudy Gay, Jamal Crawford, Andre Miller, Larry Hughes , Adonal Foyle, Kerry Kittles , Vin Baker, Olden Polynice, Ron Harper, Detlef Schrempf, Antoine Carr, Clark Kellogg, Tom Chambers, Andrew Toney)…in there amongst an entire first round of basically also-rans, with a few exceptions in there.

Not his fault (and it’s also not a DISS, as y’all makin’ it seem), but….. :manny:

...and for him to say that this is one of the worst draft classes ever, I'm SAYIN'...he should know, right? Cause he was from one of the worst draft classes ever HIMSELF.

S'all I'm sayin' here....
