Saying white folks are out of pocket or too comfortable is not tantamount to a defense of Clarence Thomas and his actions. White folks don't get to have a say in blackness.

Nahhhhh people on here have been flat out defending Clarence Thomas on here even outside of using those reasonings as an excuse. You must have missed when what's been going on in this threads the past week. As a lot of us have been saying, Clarence Thomas would literally laugh in dudes faces on this site if he knew that people were trying to defend him in any form in the slightest, which would hurt a lot of people's feelings on here :mjlol:

I've only seen this one and the Martha Stewart thread.

White folks don't get to have a say in blackness, that's it.
100%. Black folks in this topic really allowing a white person to make "he's never been to an NBA game" jokes. Y'all really okay with a white person make racial jokes to a former black  sharecropper?

Straight up c00n behavior. Idc. That shyt ain't okay at all and the white boy needs to apologize

Yall really up in here carrying water for these liberal cacs?

Let me help yall...

Clarence Thomas on the Issues

At least have an idea of his record on the bench before you start doing the exact thing you accuse him of...being a mouthpiece for these cacs against other black people...
Aint that what yall say he is for the conservatives?
The irony...

Read his decisions... hes a old blackman from the south, hes a gullah, who I dont agree with on several issues, but I would not openly call him a c00n infront of company...and i damn sure wouldnt let no cac say that shyt while I cheerlead from the sideline...

And at the end of the day, Clarence Thomas would pick liberal cacs over the people on this site defending him, so fukk outta here with that logic :mjlol:

We aren’t picking and choosing which c00ns get and which ones don’t as if it was anyone else then the narrative on here would be completely different.

I know what he thinks of people like me and it’s even more obvious when you see his wife and what she stands for.

You're trying to humanize Clarence Thomas by comparing him to an "old black man" from the south. Almost like an emotional appeal to our blackness even though he's been anti black going on 5 decades.

That's not working for me due to the fact that at 36 years old he had a long track record of preventing discrimination cases from being settled while at the EEOC. He did that all throughout the 80s under Reagan before he sat on the SCOTUS. Since reaching his position there he has constantly chipped away at affirmative action, anti discrimination laws, and voting rights all under the belief that racism no longer exists (yes, he's actually put that in some of his opinions). How many old black men do you know that hold that opinion?

And that’s the point right there that makes a lot of dudes arguments for him disingenuous.

People agree with the message but not the messenger.

Why?

Because white liberals have a bad habit of trying to define what "Blackness" is as if they are the arbiters of what is or isn't acceptable behavior from Black people. The man grew up Gullah/Geechee in Jim Crow South Carolina. He didn't believe much in the idea of Blacks/whites ever being able to work it out..but something changed in him...probably his wife. He married a sista and has a Black son before this transformation.

All that to say, while I don't agree with Justice Thomas on anything and realize he's 'a problem' , the breh is Black and he can define his own Blackness however he chooses. It's not any white liberals place to do that.
