MMA is not just something you train like say basketball or boxing. It's a multi demensional discipline with fighters having long time base making it easier for them to transition. Jones wrestled for years before getting into MMA so he was able to be successful right off the bat. Same with rousey and her judo skill that allowed her to medal in the Olympics. These aren't just random bums who decided to train "MMA" because they couldn't do anything else. If you are going to pass judgement on something at least know the background first
