All those people had actual businesses they could use to justify their loans. And they employ actual people and stimulate the economy. I hope people realize the funds were ment for such businesses. They can forgive them because they will earn tax revenue from them and their still afloat businesses.
That's the actual point.

Yeah, the last thing you'd want to do if you own an actual business is come out of your own pocket to cover things if the government is giving out loans for existential circumstances.
