this game looks boring
Galaxy wide and an inch deep has been said multiple times about this game. I can't bring myself to pay $60 for it. I might give it a try for 1 hour and refund on Steam. I have Elite Dangerous for the exploration, waiting for the full release of SC to play a legit space game.

oh they know what they're doing. dont believe those responses. these people are trolls. They say the exact same thing in every thread about this game. i hear and see the exact same stuff in some of the comment sections to videos about this game. no matter how well the game is explained you see the identical same response. which tells me, you're just trolling . these people are the ultimate hater types. we don't know if they like the game or not. what we do know is they don't like any game being hyped to this extent. So they think their job is to curtail the hype for the rest of us by lying and stating "i still dont know what you do in this game" or "it looks boring" or "its just a tech demo..all you do is walk around planets all day long." wash, rinse, repeat. i've said it 1000 times. if you dont like this style of game. dont hate... just dont speak on it. it shouldnt be on your radar after you've seen the first few videos. how often do i hate on RPG's? I dont. because i know for the most part i dont like those games. Thats not my style of game. But i can see how others have fun with it and are hyped about those games. aint no reason for me to be all up in those threads and comments pushing the hate train. let them cook
but it does have purpose.
why explore? to find new creatures. some creatures may be guarding certain special materials like a dragon guarding the gold. other times some people just want to see new creatures as if you were actually exploring life on other planets.
you can find new materials thru mining, or deep diving for stuff, or trading for things, or getting them from alien factions. why do you need these things? to upgrade your multi tool(gun/mining laser/grenade launcher(digger). the better your multi tool the better you can do all of those things mentioned. the better you can do that. the easier it will be for your to get the stuff you need to upgrade your ship and your suit as well.
why upgrade your suite?
So you can survive on planets that are not easy to just walk around in all willy nilly. Theirs all sorts of creatures that will attack you without you provoking them.
The environment is the harshest part to deal with. Some planets/locations are too hot without special suit upgrades, to cold, acid rain can burn holes in your suit, radiation can get to you, toxicity levels are super high near certain types of planets/on certain planets.
You mess around and don’t upgrade your suit and you will end up dying after a few mins on some of these planets. And by the way. Everyone starts on a different planet. Yes it will probably be a bit easier starting out but some of us may end up on tougher planets than others. So if you don’t get your stuff upgrade you may never be able to explore that planet or even leave it.
That’s another thing. You need those materials to upgrade your ship or to fix a current downed ship so you can use that to fly to further planets closer to the center of the galaxy. Which is a main goal. A side goal is to have the ability to fly further in less jumps. So you can get to places quicker that are far far away. So when you sell your goods, you can sell them for a lot more money since those goods are rare in that area. There is an economy in the game. You can do business to get more money and just choose to buy all of your upgrades vs mine for them and explore for them. Its your choice. They are not forcing you to pick only one side.
Obviously you can fly around shooting at other ships to get more materials by being a pirate or by siding with faction wars and getting on the aliens good side so they will give you things. Give you knowledge. Maybe you will learn how to use the portals faster than others. And you can get to the center quicker than others.
There is a purpose. There are multiple purposes for each thing in this game. Its on you to utilize the stuff in the game for those purposes.
And by the way for anyone who replies “I aint reading all of that.” Then you surely don’t want to know what the game is about and are also on that hate train.
then you equate money to winning. and thats the only way you believe someone can win.
you do realize their are evil rich people that harm people for fun. do you also call them winners as well? because if you aint losing ya winning right?
just because you're rich doesnt mean you're winning in my opinion. it means you're rich, no more and no less. get your spiritual life together then you're winning. be a truth teller and a truth seeker. then you're winning. you can be a horrible person and be super rich. in no way would i call that a win. money is nice and would all like to have a lot of it so we wouldnt have to struggle. but money doesnt make you nicer. or a better person. good people are winners.
