If the players were smart they'd strike right before the 2019 playoffs started. They'd never see it coming :banderas:
Everybody got that full season of checks and the NFL miss out on their biggest revenue games. That's how'd I do it. Hit em where it'll hurt the most. Owners don't care about preseason games.

If the players listened to people like you they would lose every benefit they had.

You can't strike under a current contract, only after your CBA has expired and you have not reached a tentative agreement.

Nhl lost a year mlb lost half a season

NBA lost games

If you want to get what you want you have to be tough and willing

But players will have or take out them Eddy Curry type loans

Meanwhile Le’Veon Bell sits out because he’s dealing with a system that clearly is weighted against paying him fair market value, and his teammates react like he spit on someone’s mother.

I hope the players have the resolve to fight for what they deserve this time. What they do to their bodies, and what they get in return, makes no sense.

Guess we’ll see. :yeshrug:

IDK why nikkas in football cant save money. Even NBA fellas that dont play seem to have better financial acumen than NFL players (admittedly, the floor for NBA guys still vastly higher than the alternative)

Most people can't save money.

They just have more money than the average person.

There will be one in the NBA as well. These players better start saving if they haven't already. Going to be a cold Winter.

Their union should and most likely has a emergency fund they put aside for this, for players since they know it’s always a high possibly of a strike / lockout.

Most people make more then spend more, I don’t know why cats act like this is some type of foreign concept when most people do the same exact thing which is why 2/3s of Americans have less than a rack.

People want nicer things when they can afford it :manny:

De Smith told them during the last lockout in 2011 to start saving 18 months before it occured. These dudes are living check to check like most people.

Realistically, there's no unity or solidarity between the NFLPA and this is why they lose. You see how Leveon Bell's teammates are throwing him under the bus and he hasn't even missed any real game time yet.

Yea but their main problem, which is unique to their union is the amount of players and the disparity among their incomes.

nikkas at the bottom, which most of them cats are, know they won’t beneift that much from anything so they probably like ‘why should I fight and sacrifice for this bullshyt, I’m tryin to eat :yeshrug:

Selfish but that’s human nature. Owners know what it is when dealing with them which why their contracts are the worst in major sports :francis:

A player strike isn’t really possible. Average NFL career is like 3 years. A barely making the roster guy isn’t gonna give up 1 (or what may be his only) full season worth of NFL salary so dudes like Richard Sherman can get more money for longer. I don’t think the NFLPA gets a United front for a strike/lockout until they all get on the same page and take care of the guys on the bottom.
The way to get guys on the bottom on board is to establish a max annual average salary and a default guarantee on any contract of $1 million / year.

That's all it takes.

Hard cap + max annual average salary (including signing bonus) leaves more cap for the other 40 no-name brehs on the 53-man roster.

Then they're together for the fight to secure more revenue share for all players which would take the cap to new heights (right now it's at 48%, they should fight for at least 52%).

Ultimately, if even the most marginal player sees that any man that makes a 53-man roster will walk away with at least $1 million / year for his time in the league...he'll fall in line.

The rookie wage is so criminal as well
Imagine being drafted at 22 in like the 4th round you'll be making under a mill for the next 5 years even if you are a all pro stud

A guy like Alfred Morris never got money

Alfred Morris 7 years in the NFL career earnings 5 mill
