He's directly questioning his boss in front of the media. Sherman has no leverage once his skills start to diminish, and he's definitely a dude who's going to want a career in football after football. If Goodell thinks sherman is a threat to any profit, he will certainly do something.
If it was any other player besides the Mannings, Brady's and Rodgers, I'd agree with you but Sherman is special brah.

It's a tried and true media tactic when it comes to controlling the narrative. They know the majority of people are easily influenced. So if you call something someone said a "rant" it takes away the legitimacy away from their statement. If someone's "rambling" instead of "speaking passionately" then their point no longer holds weight. So after Sherman and Baldwin express their point through a pretty simple use of sarcasm, Wingo sits there silently staring into the camera like a scorned woman, knowing the cameras are back on him, to convey how silly/crazy what Sherman said was. Meanwhile Herm is sitting there smiling, mildly amused because he doesn't have an ulterior motive he's trying to push.

Funny thing is, I can see some of the talking heads using the tried and true "Shutup and play football" line about this which would be amazingly ironic

Bingo!!! :salute:
