White liberals think - because they’re “allies” who vote for the Democrats, because they put a “black lives matter” sticker on their car, because they tweeted that Trump is an orange buffoon every week he was in office - that they aren’t beneficiaries of and, thus, participants in the system of white supremacy. That’s why discussions of race make them uncomfortable. They’ve deluded themselves into believing we are fighting racism side by side. It’s easier doing that than confronting their racist grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, friends and coworkers.
