To have a soking gun, means its pretty cut and dry, so how can you say it never happened and have a smoking gun?

In context, the voicemail isnt really a smoking gun- but in the court of law technicalities generally overrule logic/context. The vulgar nature of the VM technically is a threat even if he clearly didnt mean it.

Personally I think he's a calculating dude(similar to Teo) being directed by helicopter parents to sue those mean mean in the locker room.
No that quote was about Ricky Williams. I agree though, from what's come out so far. It looks like Martin planned alot of this shyt, because he was done with football and wanted a way out.

Agreed. The NFL Locker Room defense won't cut it in court. Calling Martin soft won't cut it in court.

In the court of public opinion is different.

I think I'm one of the only few ones here who thinks Martin handled the situation very poorly and what was done to Martin was fukked up.

I'm just glad both Martin and Incognito are off the team. I don't want either one back.

What a joke....

Dolphins coach Joe Philbin visited Martin at the hospital, and the organization arranged for his parents to travel to South Florida, the sources said.
Martin's hospital stay was brief before he returned to California with his parents, according to sources.

You need to chill breh. Incognito is the fukboy, and remember most of the players on the team have his back so we have to remember the black players do not think the same as you and I. It's obvious the black player are out for the money.
Uh, did you quote the wrong post?

I hear that. But there's no doubt in my mind this was a plan concocted by himself and his folks. The plan was to sue all along.

Could be, but does that make what happened to him right? Does it set an example to people watching for a white starter in the NFL to call a black player the n-word? Does it set an example of a star player telling someone he will slap his mother?

From a Business and legal standpoint this one is a no-brainer. From a locker room, macho-judging or any other public opinion scenario then it becomes harder to decipher.

I think you are wrong. I think he couldn't handle it. And he had a breakdown. The possible lawsuit probably arouse from that. It's too many things to involve for him to have planned it from the jump.

IMO he didn't a plan, but why not sue now. He has the case and they all admit to it. Besides the Dolphins deserve it, just not sure if the rest of the NFL does.

The Dolphins will fall on sword for the NFL, just like the Saints did a few years back.

It allows the NFL to keep their distance. They don't want to ruffle many feathers with politicians due to their legal/tax standing.

They should.I can tell you right now Pittsburgh and the NY Giants would never tolerate this.
