In context, the voicemail isnt really a smoking gun- but in the court of law technicalities generally overrule logic/context. The vulgar nature of the VM technically is a threat even if he clearly didnt mean it.

Could be, but does that make what happened to him right? Does it set an example to people watching for a white starter in the NFL to call a black player the n-word? Does it set an example of a star player telling someone he will slap his mother?

From a Business and legal standpoint this one is a no-brainer. From a locker room, macho-judging or any other public opinion scenario then it becomes harder to decipher.

I think you are wrong. I think he couldn't handle it. And he had a breakdown. The possible lawsuit probably arouse from that. It's too many things to involve for him to have planned it from the jump.

The Dolphins will fall on sword for the NFL, just like the Saints did a few years back.

It allows the NFL to keep their distance. They don't want to ruffle many feathers with politicians due to their legal/tax standing.
