It's a physical sport and they, despite knowing the long term risk involved, go out and put their health, and ultimately their lives on the line every Sunday. They're seen as the modern day warriors/gladiators of society.

Football is not life. It's a game and a job. It's very physical for sure, and there are severe consequence s(mainly due to greed by the NFL), but there are plenty of players who don't subscribe to that NFL Locker Room nonsense and do just fine.

It's a completely fukked up situation to be in. What's worse, paying a big bill or getting cut and having no money to pay a big bill with? If Incognito is team captain he could easily threaten dude by saying he could have his ass cut. shyt ain't as simple as be a man and stand up for yourself. Dudes probably figuring that they'll just take whatever it takes to make it through the first year when they ain't a rookie anymore. Obviously Martin wasn't the first one that's happened to as plenty of players came out saying that type of shyt happened to them.

And if he does stand up for himself who would the organization side with, a pro bowl player or a rookie who barely made the team?
