toughening up happens by any means necessary on the field and off. racial slurs aren't pc and i personally wouldn't let a white person call me nikka without repercussions, but i've seen and heard my former teammates call other teammates spics, kikes, nikka, fakkit, homo, the whole gamut. i don't think it was ever meant in a racially superior way, but it was definitely meant to get under their skin and had the intended effect. but you know what...we got passed those juvenile things and we always had each other's back when it was time to mash up.

now i'm not vouching for dude calling him slurs and he was definitely wrong for that. i also don't know much about incognito's past or if he has a history of doing racist sh1t.

From the beginning i said its not about getting mad or angry, its about respect. As a man, you should command respect. That is where your "you're admitting they have power over you" logic falls apart and that is what my example showed. You think a CEO gives a shyt about what you call him? That hes mad at you? After all hes making ten, if not a hundred times more money than you. Of course hes not mad, but hed fire you to let you know, you cant go walking around calling him out his name. You haven't "won". You haven't "gotten too him". You aren't are safe from repercussions because otherwise, he'd be admitting hes beneath you otherwise. That's nonsense.

A black man has just as much right to want to be respected as a CEO and it has nothing to do with anger or rage. Either words have power over you, as you believe, or they dont. It cant be conditional. "Well if youre black words shouldnt matter, but if youre a white ceo or anybody in a position of power with the ability to affect the outcome of the situation, well then, in that case, they should."

You don't know what type of past martin had in dealing with being half-white. You don't know if being called half-****** took him back to when he was a kid and had to deal with that bullshyt. He was in a position to get rid of icognito, just as a ceo is in a position to fire your ass for disrepecting him, and he got rid of icognito. Your experience with your friends means jack shyt. You and your experiences with your friends are irrelevant in this.

Well fukk it you want me to make a stand words have no effect on me personally and a better example still but I didn't think about this last night was let the bum or CEO call me a nikka they not getting the response they want from me. See that's where I think you went wrong in trying to say my logic on the situation was wrong. In my example somebody is saying it to you in yours its the opposite. For these to be comparable they would both have to say something to me cause the CEO might feel like you. I also said if you or anybody else wants to handle shyt differently that's them I just choose not to.

Dolphins guard Richie Incognito, now suspended by the club for tormenting teammate Jonathan Martin, had been told by at least one coach to help “toughen him up,” a source close to the organization told The Palm Beach Post this morning.

The source said there was a general understanding among coaches, including head coach Joe Philbin, that Martin, a second-year player from Stanford, was “too soft.”

A Dolphins spokesman was not immediately available for comment.

Some Dolphins officials, the source said, believe that Incognito is being blamed unfairly but that the team was forced to suspend him once they knew that voice mails were being leaked to the public in which Incognito threatened Martin in profane and racist language. Martin is bi-racial; Incognito is white.

The source said that coaches did not specifically tell Incognito to leave Martin harassing voice mails. But, the source said, “as weird as that sounds, I think that was Incognito trying to be a team leader.”

Incognito has been supported publicly by many of his teammates, black and white. Center Mike Pouncey, who is black, lines up next to Incognito on the field and is a friend off the field.

“Pouncey and Incognito, they talk to each other that way — redneck, (n-word), it doesn’t bother the two of them. It’s how they communicate,” the source said. “They bond with one another and they were trying to bring Jonathan in the circle.”

Martin was said to have been feeling tremendous pressure to succeed. He left the team Oct. 28, the day after he didn’t play well in a loss at New England. In that game, Martin was shifted from left tackle back to right tackle to make room for veteran left tackle Bryant McKinnie, who had been acquired from Baltimore. Martin has played both positions for Miami since being drafted in 2012.

Incognito is the scapegoat in this whole story.

A lot of ya'll in this thread sounding like the white media you love to hate. Everyone talking about harassment, bullying and what not when there is literally NO proof of such actions.

All we have right now is an unfortunate voicemail that Incognito left to Martin after being asked by the coaches to toughen him up a bit. Granted this was a terrible, shameful way of reacting to that request but where is the actual proof of longstanding, perpetual harassment & bullying.

A lot of the shyt that goes on in the football locker room is not acceptable in a normal setting. That's why a lot of players are saying that Martin should have kept it in the locker room.

Can't we all agree that the term PC is a bunch of bullshyt.

What is politically correct about a locker room? Can you walk around with your dikk out on a regular basis, is that politically correct?

Some environments just aren't politically correct, and quite frankly. they never will be. But the racist shyt isn't gonna fly, that's where the line is crossed. But to try to make football anti-bullying/hazing is just nonsense.

what do you have to back up your agenda ? An isolate off the field video of Incognito shouting "n*****" ? The transcript of one voicemail ?

Where are the stories about Martin going to work and getting harassed and bullied EVERYDAY ? Cause that's what this whole story is about right ? Martin fearing for his life & the whole toxic work environment thing right ? Where can I find accounts of that ?

Until I see proof of that that's just speculation
