Why has this conversation not pivoted to these black players who ok'ed inconito's use of nikka? Honestly, you can't be mad at someone doing something they were granted a pass on, sucks for him that a VM and 40 second video clip can be framed however the media wants it to be

Incognito considered black in Dolphins locker room

One of the most curious aspects of the Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin story is how race has become very much a part of it outside the Dolphins locker room -- in the media and among fans and observers -- but not at all so far within the Dolphins locker room.

Think of this:

Richie Incognito left Jonathan Martin a voice mail that, among other things, called Martin a "half-n----r." And Dolphins players of color, knowing of the voicemail, have expressed no problems with Incognito.

"I don't have a problem with Richie," Mike Wallace said. "I love Richie."

"I don't think Richie is a racist," cornerback Brent Grimes said.

"Richie Incognito isn't a racist," tight end Michael Egnew said.

How is this possible?

Well, I've spoken to multiple people today about this and the explanation from all of them is that in the Dolphins locker room, Richie Incognito was considered a black guy. He was accepted by the black players. He was an honorary black man.

And Jonathan Martin, who is bi-racial, was not. Indeed, Martin was considered less black than Incognito.

"Richie is honarary," one player who left the Dolphins this offseason told me today. "I don't expect you to understand because you're not black. But being a black guy, being a brother is more than just about skin color. It's about how you carry yourself. How you play. Where you come from. What you've experienced. A lot of things."

Another former Dolphins employee told me Martin is considered "soft" by his teammates and that's a reason he's not readily accepted by some of the players, particularly the black players. His background -- Stanford educated and the son of highly educated people -- was not necessarily seen as a strength or a positive by some players and it perpetuated in the way Martin carried himself.

And so that -- agree with it or not, comprehend it or not -- is a reason the Dolphins haven't turned on Incognito as a racist.

Well fukk it you want me to make a stand words have no effect on me personally and a better example still but I didn't think about this last night was let the bum or CEO call me a nikka they not getting the response they want from me. See that's where I think you went wrong in trying to say my logic on the situation was wrong. In my example somebody is saying it to you in yours its the opposite. For these to be comparable they would both have to say something to me cause the CEO might feel like you. I also said if you or anybody else wants to handle shyt differently that's them I just choose not to.

Yea, if you qualified your position with, "this is how i would react personally, because i feel like a person has power over me, otherwise.", then i'd understand your point. Thats your perception of the situation, not an axiom. i got that now. Initially, you quoted me, calling me obtuse and all this other irrelevant stuff.

i dont think reaction to words equates to universal admission of inferiority. Apparently, neither do you. You just believe thats the case in regards to yourself. Got you.

So knowing what we know now:

1) Do you guys still think Incognito is racist?

2) What evidence is there that Incognito actually bullied Martin? Only evidence we've seen thus far is the transcript of one voicemail, and countless pictures and accounts of them hanging out together after that. That's it. So I have to say there's very little, to none.

Biggest issue is Philbin IMO. Incognito is the scapegoat here

I'm sure what Philbin did, asking the biggest POS to toughen up the biggest p*ssy on the team, is not unprecedented. I can see Parcells doing the same shyt. Hell, Parcells used to ask one of his players to start fights in training camp. The people who are outraged by this are people who have never been in a locker room environment.

Did Incognito cross a line? I don't know because that imaginary line is set by the people involved. It is telling that other Dolphin players are coming to Incognito's defense.

These nikkas are stuck in middle school.
That's a white writers interpertation man.

Incognito is just an alpha male and dudes across the board respect that.

These white writers love to think black dudes hate educated dudes. I'm sure white players disliked Martin for the same reason. He's soft.

Bingo. Nothing here is new. This is old terrain.

.

Whether he's racist or not is irrelevant. You can't drop slurs and fall back on the "but I'm not racist..I have black friends" shyt. I just :dahell: at nikkaz breaking their necks to give this white dude a pass to drop n bombs. I don't give a fukk if he's well liked, that shyt isn't cool.
