Why are they so focused on the black players when all the players universally found Martin soft?

Because some of these dudes complaining are soft as baby shyt ass nikkas whod be the victim of these things if they were in the locker room

These cats really have no idea how it is in a football locker room its divided between real cats and soft cats not race

If you a dude expecting a life preserver from a nikka in the locker room because hes black your sadly mistaken

So first off, any occupation or condition that forces you into the trenches where your physical well-being depends on whether another individual has your back be it the Military, Football or jail for that matter commands a certain level of respect and comradery but also an understanding that the environment is harsh. At the same time, just like the Military is an institution so are jail and football and institutional racism is the worst because it impacts your ceiling which impacts your money which impacts your family and your mental well being. This is the first conflict.

With that said, I don't believe Incognito to be a racist, just a buffoon with poor judgement. The thing about ignorance is that Incognito's intentions seem to have been good-natured he just wasn't the right guy for the "job" of toughening up this cat because he seems to have no boundaries which is dangerous. This creates the second conflict.

Finally without knowing much about Martin other than what's been reported about his background and level of education in conjunction with the hazing/bullying that he was a "victim" of lead me to believe that he's a punk. There's no room for punks in the trenches. Sure there may be some mental health aspect to this that makes is passiveness understandable but I doubt it because he's smart enough to know what he can and cannot handle and whether this was the right career path for him to take. This seems to be the conflict Martin struggled with the most.

There's two ends to the spectrum here both of which Martin was completely in control of no matter how emasculated he may have felt, he either whoops Incognito's ass and becomes the angry black guy or he goes MIA from the team like he did and bytches up. I don't think Martin too much struggled with this conflict, it's pretty clear that 10 times out of 10 he bytches up. Both are the wrong move, because the response to both of those moves causes the situation to go public (though the ass whooping could have been kept private! hehe) which is why I say Martin is a punk. This should have never gone public. Football players say and do some pretty crude things and no matter which side of the argument you favor, punking out is never the response, you have to make your stance clear. Forking over 15k for a trip or a dinner does not clearly state your position of non-compliance to your aggressor. I ain't even have to go to Stanford or Harvard to know that.

There you go projecting again. So far there has been zero indication that this was a two way street.

Is this the new wave of smart dumb posting brehs?

:pachaha:

Considering they hung out frequently after this, I'm using common sense in inferring that Martin probably wasn't outraged by it, or checked Incognito about it. Also, I have a hard time believing that Incognito, or any person with a brain, would just hit him up out of nowhere and use that kind of language with him. Add to the fact that the voicemail is just now surfacing 6 months later when Martin is trying to draw up a potential lawsuit against the team and the NFL, all the while chillin with Incognito in the meantime, and I just don't think he was in an uproar about it. But you're right, neither of us have enough details here to know for sure, so we're both speculating at this point.

The 215
its absolute in terms of you dont relinquish your "power" to a bum, so dont relinquish your "power" to white folks. The correlation is non-existant but one that you believe in. Thays why you shouldve qualified it. Calling me obtuse and discrediting my comparison makes me think i struck a nerve and that you believe your view should be more than just your view, but how others should view the situation as well.
Again I said probably and you even quoted me saying so. Probably doesn't equal absolute and I also said probably cause everybody doesn't think like me so by saying probably that leaves it open for you to say I still would feel some type of way. I called you obtuse because I thought you were purposely seeing what I was trying to say and ignoring it so you can post the original post. I said I didn't agree with your comparison because for them to be the same the CEO would have to call me the name not the other way around. That is the equal to what you went off of. I know you didn't read all my other post before the one that "struck a nerve" with you but I said before if others handle it differently I can see that too so that's another reason why I was confused. I rarely if ever say my way is the only way but like I said misunderstandings happen.

I can't cosign this. Nikker is not accpetable...and even if it may be to you, if folk hear you say it, they may be offended and you might get in trouble for it. Look at Incognito. Folk know the word is offensive but use it freely...well, suffer the consequences :manny: tough luck nikka.
@dora_da_destroyer is 100 percent right and this is the problem with black sports: you aren't black when the check comes through.

This^ In the locker room, many times you have to fight your own battles. That's how you earn your respect/stripes.

When I was a freshman in college, I had more fights in a 7month period then I had in my entire life. After that, I was "in" and nobody fukked with me on the team.

Jonathan Martin is partly to blame in this, so are his parents for raising him not to defend himself and partly Incognito for takin this shyt too far

If all of those Black men find it okay for a white man to call another Black man a half ****** or whatever, then its a problem. Real or not, soft or not, A real Black man is not going to be okay with that. Truth is, Incognito had 100 of different ways to bring Martin into the "circle", he just chose the most ignorant way possible. I guarantee you Incognito wouldn't go to Steelers with all of that half ****** shyt. There's a lot of "real cats" that tap dance harder than Gregory Hines to show how they are part of the circle.

It kills me when these dudes are in here using real-life, everyday logic and applying it to a football locker room. It's two different worlds. Read someone say "Martin couldn't fight Incognito, because he would have got kicked off the team. Could you fight a co-worker at work and still keep your job?" :laff: I only played high school football, but there were fights damn near daily; either in the locker room or on the practice field. It was a routine occurrence. You think if Martin and Incognito threw hands, one of them would get cut? I guarantee there's been a fight between teammates either on the field or in the locker room on every single NFL team this season. That shyt is commonplace and is typically how most disputes are handled in that realm.

Exactly. People are off base when they try to compare the dynamics of a team locker room compared to how things are handled in the everyday workplace. 2 totally different enviorments

Dog....what separates a football locker room is [Tony]BALLS[/Montana]. Not race. I CANT be that dude that allows a white dude to get away with saying niqqa. But other dudes who are cool with cats they have a kinship with can :scusthov: I just wish they understood how their actions can distract people from what the real issues are when they do appear. In this case....martin was viewed universally as soft, from his head coach on down.

Doesn't matter, you cosign it as a Black man, you are a c00n. Point blank, ****** has never been funny. It's not being sensitive, its being aware of history, maybe people should look back in history and realize the power of being called a ******. Sell outs think its okay, I don't.
