NEW YORK (WFAN) – The Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin story continues to be the talk of the NFL.

Martin, an offensive tackle on the Miami Dolphins, has left the team after Incognito allegedly harassed him with threatening text messages and voicemails that were racially-charged in nature.

Incognito has been suspended by Miami, and according to a report he may have played his last game as a Dolphin.

Giants safety Antrel Rolle joined WFAN co-hosts Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts in his weekly spot on Tuesday to offer his thoughts on the controversial situation.

“Richie Incognito, is he wrong? Absolutely,” Rolle told Joe & Evan. ”But I think the other guy is just as much to blame because he’s allowed it to happen.”

Further elaborating, Rolle said he would never allow himself to get involved in such a situation.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber disputes the notion that there’s “a thug culture” within locker rooms around the National Football League.

And he says some teams need a guy like Richie Incognito, who was suspended indefinitely by the Miami Dolphins this week for allegedly bullying teammate Jonathan Martin.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a thug culture,” Barber said Tuesday on “The O’Reilly Factor.” “It exists in some corners of the National Football League. And look, Richie Incognito is needed on some teams. They need that attitude.”

Martin left the Dolphins last week and headed home to Los Angeles for counseling. Allegations of harassment soon surfaced, including a leaked voicemail left for Martin by Incognito in April that was both threatening and racially-charged.

This shyt is killig me when players say they view Incognito as black :snoop:

Fukk it! Seems like black people will just have to live with this shyt since they refuse to abandon the word "nikka" from their dictionary. So now we have honorary black that can freely say "nikka"?
Where's Al Sharpton in all this?
Where's Cornell West?

SMH @ the sheer amount of buffonery and c00nery exhibit by the Miami Dolphins. Thank god I'm not a fan of that team. A bunch ignorant c00ns for real.

so its okay for Incognito to call a black man a half ****** now? Its cool cause he nice on the line? Its cool cause he got jokes? Its cool cause he is your boy? So Incognito is more "black" now because Martin comes from an educated family and went to Stanford.

Lots of black people said Bill Clinton was the 1st black prez and honorary black....care to explain that situation and they wasn't athletes.
Yeah, they thought that until a real Black President got into office. And if people really look at his record, Clinton didn't do too much to help Black people. Running around getting p*ssy with Vernon Jordan doesn't make you Black, honorary or otherwise.

Is this what unlimited access to copious amounts of white p*ssy can do to a black man's brain? Maybe Malcolm X was on to something.

On the surface it looks that way. But when you analyze all that we've seen and heard so far its not that simple. All the sudden im starting to question the legitimacy of Martin's full complaint.
its starting to look funny in the light especially with the majority of the players backing incognito

you guys are intertwining too much shyt and it's making it hard to keep up with what exactly is being debated or talked about lol

Is Incognito in the wrong for using a racial slur with Martin? ABSOLUTELY. Haven't seen a single person say otherwise. He deserves whatever punishment comes his way. Did Martin "allow" him to use the word? From the looks of it, yes. But that's irrelevant. Like I said yesterday, when you have a controversial "inside joke", and that joke gets out into the public, you're liable for whatever scrutiny and backlash comes your way. Gotta be smarter than that.

So saying Martin is more in the wrong in this situation doesn't automatically mean anyone is giving Incognito a pass.

A few things are pretty clear here:

- Martin's best friend on the entire team as of a week ago was Richie Incognito. They went everywhere together, sat next to each other on team flights, Incognito came to his defense when he got into it with Dion Jordan, etc.

- Martin wasn't offended by Incognito using that racial slur in the voicemail. Teammates have said he routinely used it in a joking manner with Martin and Martin just laughed and never had an issue with it. Add to that, Martin was the one going around letting everyone listen to the drunk voicemail and laughing about it with everyone.

- There is no evidence that Martin was ever bullied by anyone.

- The $15,000 for the Vegas trip was not an extortion. Martin agreed to the trip in advance, as it's a yearly thing with all the linemen. The trip is paid for well in advance in terms of airfare, hotels, club reservations, etc. AFTER everything was paid for, Martin, who previously committed to the trip, tried to back out of it at the last minute and said he didn't want to go anymore. Is that what you would call extortion if you say "too bad, you already committed, pay up"? (this is all according to Lydon Murtha, who was an offensive linemen on the Fins last season when this went down)

So again, how is Martin the victim here, at all? It's not an either or situation, they both can be at fault (and I think they both were). But if Martin wasn't offended by Incognito's joking drunk voicemail, which I doubt he was judging by how he was going around laughing about it with the rest of the team, then what exactly is his beef, here?

Dude is a p*ssy who threw his best friend on the team under the bus because he realized he wasn't cut out for the NFL, but he needed an excuse to keep getting paid. So he blamed his meltdown on Incognito so that the Fins wouldn't put him on the NFI list and he wouldn't have to forfeit the rest of his season's salary.

I have to pause for a second, because Information involving this case is all over the place right now.

But one thing i have to say is they need to cut that shyt out about martin being from stanford and he's not part of the black culture. FOH

Rolle was right.. go back through my post and i said i would have bash incognito upside his head with that steel tray at lunch and snap his knees..

My beef is with the black c00ns a.k.a. the dolphins black players and coaches just because they feel since martin went to stanford and didn't act hood enough that he wasn't black. Hell richard sherman went to stanford, granted he's from my hood, but there is no way in hell i'll sit back as a teammate and let a white player call another black player a half breed nikka or have incognito father send text messages using the word nikka in it..

Look how proof and the rest of D-12 step to eminem when they heard that racist rant he had about his ex black girlfriend... M&M even said bizarre snatch him up about it... That's how u handle shyt.. I don't care if we teammates/boys or not some things u don't sit back and watch

I don't give a fukk if they had martin on some running on the field naked, or having him carried bags and other shyt. but the racist shyt i don't play with. to many of u these black athletes sit back and let white folks say what they want cause u getting a check and don't want to hurt your career.

let's clear the air a second

the honorary black man thing was an opinion brought up by an anonymous source, apparently ex dolphins players, that is no longer on the team

the current players have never mentioned this and when asked about it, Ellerbe was definitely in disagreement with this

"Anonymous source" most likely means no one. They're trying to spin this.
