People have been praising how wonderful and underappreciated a coach he is for a really long time breh.

Not searching for something that was very prevalent around the time. All you had to do was watch a broadcast. It was widely thought that Carlisle was the real coach and Bird was just the figurehead. Didnt he go and turn a moribound 32 win team into a 50 win playoff series winning team with Mike Curry and Chucky Atkins starting? Didnt he get then to the conference finals the yeat after that? Ricks problem is he was an a$$hole who was not liked. I will never forget Ben Wallace complaining that Rick would walk by him without acknowleding him or that he wouldnt speak to the owners wife. Ben Wallace even had a party per Terry Foster, to celebrate his departure..
