Why don't albums with these new Friday release dates leak a week early anymore

because they typically release digital first on fridays and physicals the following tuesdays. artist/labels can hold the release to digital outlets until late Thursday night by this time the master has been delivered to pressing but the album will be available digitally so your typical plug at distribution/pressing has been squeezed out of their exclusive leak.

But the physicals are being released Friday too. The date listed on Amazon and Best Buy is December 4th
