I haven't really been following the Ross stuff, so I'm kinda confused.

If all it took to destroy the victim's credibility is "hey guys, listen to the 911 tape!"....then why didn't Ross's lawyers try this months ago? Why was he locked up in the first place? Why did he put all that money up?

Also if the guy wasn't really hurt....then how did Ross get charged in the first place?

Phone call is bad evidence. There is no particular way a person's voice is supposed to sound after such an altercation. Also, everyone responds differently to stressful situations. Maybe he was ashamed to admit physical abuse so quickly, who knows. Rape victims can go years without mentioning any abuse. Every judge knows this too. 50's taking a picture with that guy also makes perfect sense if Ross really did pistol whip him and get in trouble for it. 50's obviously just trying to taunt him and given Ross' reaction, it worked. The claims on Ross' part are completely speculative. Note how they didn't sue 50 either, even though they claim he set him up. They only mention him. They know they don't have any real evidence to win a case against 50 and they're only using the 'evidence' in this case because they want to try everything to walk from the charges. Like I said, reeks of desperation.

Not really the same in cases where you have a millionaire vs a landscaper though. It's a major claim and the burden of proof is on the prosecution. What Ross's lawyers are doing is creating a public perception of greed and conspiracy which can shape a dialog. Him being photographed with 50 was a perfect chance to push that to the public b/c it's well known those two don't like each other. So what you say is a reek of desperation could be just enough to shake the prosecution into offering a plea deal instead. You keep forgetting money talks and it's always what you can prove.
