I've literally been saying this.

People are out here quotes hooks......no metaphors, similes, punchlines. There's not many bars on the album. I've spent the whole last 3-4 days listening to this album and there's just not much there....Look around on twitter. I'm pretty sure if you're like me you follow people who are into rap. The most quoted bar on the whole album from what I've seen is "All I want is 100 million dollars and a bad bytch."

The production is really carrying this album. Ross has such good mic presence that most people don't give a shyt. Me being into lyrics it's a glaring flaw in the album.
If all u see is metaphors, similes and punchlines then u prolly think Pac is a shytty lyricist

Ross is spitting sht and painting pictures and relaying sentiments in ways that could be felt by us

Thats the power of a true lyricist

Love Pac......but Pac had something to say.

Ross has run out of shyt to say that I haven't heard him say before and he hasn't come up with new and more clever ways of saying the same things.

Also, Pac did have metaphors (see Me and My Girlfriend)

Ross has metaphors too

But Pac's catalog is more filled with raw worded sentiments ppl can feel

Did u listen to the album

Ross is talkin about a plethora of things that relate to black struggle or aspirations

From the Nation influence in his music, to his many divine references and religious metaphors to success and decadence, and many more Ross is able to present the sentiments of many of those of the blaack hip hop community in a strong powerful way

nikka, did YOU listen to the album? There's nothing that relates to black struggle with his excessive kingpin lifestyle raps on this album. I'm not sure you know what struggle means because there's literally nothing about this album that relates to struggle at all.

Having 92 million in a checking account to being on his 4th bentley, He seen 36 at 16, black bottles, elevators like frank on scarface, buying meek range rovers, Wingstop lemon pepper wings, ghosts, ferraris, bentleys with tints. He may actually mention a different whip on every song. It's basically his rap success mixed with extravagant drug dealer lies and fantasies :troll:

The closest thing to the struggle was him mentioning half a bar about the attempt on his life on Mafia Music 3 and them threatening venues....but immediately after that he's popping black bottles and 10 car garages.

:russ: @ the Nation influence......nikka had 3 bars in the last few years about Farrakhan (mafia music 1 & 3, and no games remix), now his drug excessive raps are Nation influenced?

If you thought the lyrics on this album were POWERFUL then I really gotta question your state of mind. Either you're moved very easily and/or you're not well read at all, in addition to not listening to much music before this era (and I'm not just talking about rap, I mean anything from marvin gaye to bob marley to 2pac).

I think many of you young nikkas worship money so an album full of raps talking about shyt like this may come off inspiring to you guys........I get it. To say this shyt is powerful is absurd tho. It's funny, Puff's rant at the end of Nobody said the Truth Will Set you Free, tell the truth..........meanwhile there's tons of lies everywhere on this album one of the more ridiculous being...."17 I was chargin' nikkas 17 Ridin' clean, youngest nikka in the Medellín" and his net worth (you could hear him change his net worth multiple times on God Forgives I Don't) but carry on.

I'm done with this thread. Y'all are something else.

nikka did u listen to the music or skim thru it

Did u not hear Drug Dealers dream where Ross brings to light both the struggle and the foundation to which the aspirations of those suffering from that struggle comes fom?

Did u not hear Thug Cry???

"Another country boy they want back on the farm" :wow:

Did u not hear Blessing in Disguise??

In Vein?? That song in itself was a double entendre brehh...

Lets keep it a buck...Lyrically Ross has more double entendres and similes than Pac and more metaphors....you're out here dismissing sht based on the same cac accusations that these cacs make

This sht goo hard and the bars are deep as fck as it relates to black struggle and black success

And as for the references to islam, being reborn etc.

nikka u aint hear the many references to his homies prayin 5 times a day or not eatin pork or him gaining the blessings insha' allah

nikka Ross spitting that deep sht...I'll even go farther in sayin that u fckin wit Pac and dissing this makes all ur statements about lyricism mute cuz according to ur claimed standards Pac was a garbag lyricist cuz in the entirety of his catalog his use of clever and complex metaphors, similies or double entendres are minute

because, man, some albums are so good that you feel like :wtf: when someone says that shyt is wack. anyone that says THIS album is :trash: is a fukking :troll:

period. there isn't any room for debate.

this is one of the best albums released in AGES. this is not a normal album. this is ready to die level classic shyt. this is reasonable doubt shyt. this is ross' classic. that's why. nikkas tallking some, "oh, this is typical ross. this is weak" shyt are lying. they're full of shyt and i don't respect their opinions AT ALL.

if you're not feeling this album, you never liked ross and you aren't into street rap. go listen to drake or something. don't act like your opinion is fukking relevant at all.
i agree with this post.

People sayin all Ross raps about is money don't get it. There's more to it than that.

Ross's music isn't just about money. It's about livin your dreams and makin your fantasies a reality. That's always what his music been about since day 1. First album, first track... push it to the limit. Handle your business and don't stop until you livin the boss life.

I got news for you. Half the nikkas that shyt on Ross's music dream daily about the shyt he raps about. Havin endless paper, fukkin model hoes, being a successful entertainer, etc. If Ross's music can put you in that head space for 4 and a half minutes and make you aspire for more then he's done his job. You're supposed to listen to his shyt and then go out and get it.

And the lyrics aren't meant to be 100% factual. Like any great storyteller the facts are embellished for dramatic effect. Sometimes the tracks are autobiographical and sometimes they ain't. Not every track is told from the first person perspective of William Roberts.

I've posted things I've liked about the album as well as things I dislike. You guys simply can't handle any opinions differing from your own.
