So after a bunch of listens, it's a good album. Definitely better than God Forgives, I barely listened to that.

The slight problem with this though, it didn't have like STANDOUT STANDOUT songs. Like ones that you might listen to 3 years from now. Teflon Don had that with BMF, I'm Not a Star, MC Hammer, Tears of Joy and All the Money In The World.

I didn't like the hook on War Ready, the rest was cool.

The skit with the girls was mad unnecessary. Had that been taken off it would've been 15 tracks instead of 16, to me the little things matter. The only tunes I didn't like was Supreme. Maybe one more subpar track.

It's a top 3 Ross album that's for sure.

One thing I hate, why do rappers release 2 albums, a normal and a deluxe? Why can't you put it all on one cd?
Exactly why i think this album is overrated. It's a shame we're starving for great music that we have to get hyped over OK music. This and GFID are both meh and after the newness wears off NO one will care for this album. Any of ross's first 4 albums are clearly better than this album. Along with mixtapes still the trillest, ashes to ashes and rich forever

Sound sound sound
tunechi on those soulful beats :wow:

"smokin on that loud, pumpin up the volume" :banderas:

could this be the resurgence of his career? could carter 5 be the only album with a chance of topping mastermind from a musical quality standpoint?

lyrically he might be back where he was 03-06....and the premier current lyricists such as drizzy, k dot & quavo might be in for a wake up call :lupe:

the thing i like about this album is that from top to bottom this shyt is consistent. at the same time tho that means that unlike his past albums there really isn't a track that really stands out from the rest. like the best tracks from his other albums are better than the best tracks from this one but unlike them other albums there isn't one track that you really want to skip because this shyt is consistent you just want to play the whole jawn. Trilla is cool but there are some wack shyt on there. Deeper Than Rap was all i played when it came out but as soon as Rich Of Cocaine is over there are tracks like Lay Back, Bossy Lady and Face which are jawns you might skip. Teflon Don maybe my favorite album from Ross but that jawn has Super High on it smh. and GF,ID has Ice Cold and Touch N You that would get skipped dependin on my mood. i didn't listen to PoM. with this album idk if there is a track that im goin to skip. don't know where i'll rank it but its another great album to add to his great catalog.

shyts trash

Ross losing steam, even the 'luxury' beats have started to sound the same. Rich Is Gangsta sounds like something he already did

Sanctified is fire tho, Blessing in Disguise too

this argument doesn't work. the problem is, the ENTIRE album is standout. this is about as perfect a mainstream release as we've seen in a very long time. the last one might, ironically enough, be jeezy's debut trap or die. there isn't a single bad song on this album. nothing average. nothing mediocre. even kendrick lamar's much vaunted "classic" had skippable songs on it. this doesn't. so, the argument that there isn't a "standout" track is a bit empty and misguided, ignoring the fact that the entire album rides through with uninterrupted dopeness.

and more than just top 3, it's ross' best album. the only one that comes close is deeper than rap, and that still had skippable tracks. this one doesn't. opens perfectly and ends perfectly with thug cry and the bonus tracks.

and people saying this album is trash are :troll: nobody believes you. you either hate ross on some personal shyt or you're into wack music if you're not feeling this album. no other explanation applies.

IDK if the albums are just so hyped to death now or I'm just jaded from years of average quality music, but this shyt not doing it for me. That schoolboy, pharrell, and now this are just disappointing imo. This album is way too long and feels like a two week longevity ross mixtape. There's no Aston Martin music, no ashamed, no rich off cocaine. No great :gladbron: tracks. And the consistency is way off which is rare for a ross album. Do we need a shifty Scott starch track or a biggie remake? I will keep about six tracks and bushes the rest

Yeah Mafia Music III would be Ross best song to date if he went on to rap for another 2 minutes.
