Only way you could possibly spin Mastermind's numbers into a flop is if you're also labeling every album selling <<<<<< Mastermind a flop as well.

With Pharrell, it falls into that Pop category where the singles drive the sales. It's not superstar Popstar numbers (usually 200K or better in the first week), but not bad either. It will probably sell consistently over time considering he could release "Gust of Wind", "Gush", "Come Get It Bae" etc. as singles.

People will still try though. Oh yes, they will try

I may be in the minority but since TD, all of Ross' shyt sounds the same....that 1st 3 album run, none of that shyt sound repetitive
i said in the thread, its basically new name, same shyt. i mean the album is nice but nothin i'll be playing two months from now, same with all the rest of his albums. if you played me a random 5 songs off his last 3 albums i prolly would say they were off the same one

one thing you can say about guys like kanye, love him or hate him but none of his albums sounds like the last

U do know albums sell after the first week right?:lupe: Ross sales have gone down each time since Teflon Don(the peak of his career)

Funny how nikkas was hyped about how they thought Ross was gonna finally go platinum in 2012 now theyre content with 150k first week

The same exact common fukking sense applies to his total sales...this is his 6th album, who are these rappers selling more and more each album 6 albums deep into career :mindblown: ...I realize 50 stans have to give it an honest effort, but yall can at least pretend not to be playing stupid. ..dude has had one of the more stable and consistent careers in hip hop since his debut, it's silly trying to spin a career gold artist selling 50k less than the absolute peak of his career 6 albums deep in 2014...

We'll see if its 50k less in a few months when he doesnt even pass the 400k mark around the same time frame that he passed the 500k mark for GFID:youngsabo:. Its just funny how yall try switching shyt up.. nobodys expecting every rapper to sell more and more each time but it wasnt until Rick Ross' 4th album that he was considered a heavyweight and hit his peak, while most rappers hit their peak around their 1st-2nd album Ross didnt. By the time his 5th album dropped he was getting gassed like he was about to go platinum, had a high first week and then sold 150k less than his last effort that dropped 2 years prior. 1 year and a half later his next album is on par to be his lowest first week ever and judging from other albums that sold as much as he did first week, hes gonna tap out at around 350k. So from 724k to 588k to 350k in 4 years when youre supposed to be some superstar mogul is stable and consistent?

The "rick ross is supposed to be some huge superstar platinum rapper killing the pop charts" bullshyt is a classic strawman...WHO has been saying this? Everybody knows Ross is a mid-carder at this point, he's clearly peaked and is now a veteran artist with a defined fanbase....go and up one single solitary thread or post from people saying Mastermind was going platinum....he'll tap at around 400K and some change I'm guessing, and end up being a top 5ish highest selling rap album this year like he's been doing every year recently (consistency in a consistently declining market)......and in like 1.5-2 years, he'll drop his next album and we'll do this whole silly song and dance over again

So im guessing u didnt see the MMG press conference in 2012, u didnt see French Montanas complex interview when he was dissing 50 saying how Ross is about to have his first platinum album, and I guess expected midcard rappers get voted as the hottest MC.. none of that ever happened everyone just always expected Ross to be a 150k fw selling midcarder who declines each album after the Albert Anastasia EP:skip:

the mmg conference was to announce a artist he signed.... wtf

french said ross career was consistent and he rather have that over a career like 50 where u lose 90% of your fanbase(i dont agree, he just wanted to ride what the team he was with at the moment)

most of the rappers on the hottest mc's list aint go plat, nobody expected ross to go plat, only haters say this after the fact, less than 1% of rappers go plat in hip hop, jay, ye, drake, em

idk if can even count wayne or kdot cause i dont think either will go plat next go round

ross doesnt have the appeal of these rappers, but he is played more on the street than any of them on the list, hottest mc's is about being hot in the streets, and having a buzz and being all over the place, jcole didnt make it and he outside 90% of the list

plus AA came out before TD and after DTR(which is his lowest selling album

Not sure what a 2 year old self promotional press conference or some years old random online interview from a member of the camp has to do with common fukking sense expectations of an album that dropped yesterday :heh: ... who here was saying Mastermind was supposed to be the peak of Ross' career? cause I'm pretty sure I saw you or some other 50 stan suggesting just a couple days ago that he would 2Chainz BOATS 2 numbers and he was over or some sh!t, but now that he projected to do pretty much the same numbers he's always done it's "but but remember 2 or 3albums ago during the first Obama administration when people were speculating how big he could get"...that question's already been answered and put to bed...everybody knows Ross' lane..the way you're harping over this sh!t you'd think Ross went from selling 7 or 8 million lps to cheating the chart to artificially inflate first week numbers, having his label imprint dropped leaving his artists to be deal-less bum mixtape rappers, to struggling to go gold himself, putting out like 8 flopped singles, have his album pushed back 4 years, and eventually dropped for his label and signing to low budget pseudo-indie or some shyt...

Lmao @ the dumbasses in here saying 100k sold independently is a million in your pocket. As if paying producers, mixers, features, shooting music videos, transporting physical copies to stores, iTunes taking a 30% cut, etc. does not take away half that million dollar revenue.

Koch is a grave yard and being independent is for shytty artists...until the artists you like go independent
